I'll try to to keep this as short as possible.

I have a small business on eBay. A buyer bought a fabric and wanted to return it. eBay issued return label, she sent it back. I had to pay the return postage because she stated that I sent the wrong fabric (I didn't but that is another story). But what I received back wasn't my fabric but a bunch of remnants. eBay is pretty useless in such cases. They refunded her because basically I can't prove it was the wrong fabric.

Well, she messaged me on Wednesday that there was a mixup at the post office and I have received the fabric that was supposed to go to her tailor and the tailor has received mine. She wants her fabric back obviously. First thing she asked was if I can send it back, she'll refund me the postage and the tailor sends me my fabric. I told her that's not going to work. I am not paying anything and I want my fabric back first before I return hers.

She now send me another message with a screenshot of two labels. Collection booked for tomorrow and if I am available. The tailor will send my fabric out tomorrow as well.

I have several problems with that: RM collects usually between 9 and 11 but not reliably and I am busy in the mornings, in and out. My husband is away for the week. I'd rather she sends me the label and I drop it off when it's convenient for me.
Another thing, I have no guarantee that my fabric will be sent off, she could as well cancel the label and keep the fabric.

Lastly, the weight is wrong, both parcels are over 2kg. She paid only for a small parcel. Even if I get my parcel back, I might have to pay a fee for insufficient postage.

This is really doing my head in. What would you do?

Good lord, she's so bloody RUDE!

PremiumRaa · 14/12/2023 21:56

Why is she so desperate for it if she's on holiday?

Santaiswashinghissleigh · 14/12/2023 22:22

Def just send her the weight of fabric for the postage she has paid for.

Why is she so desperate for it if she's on holiday?

She wants me to send it directly to her tailor, that's where it was meant to go originally, before she mixed up the labels.

Omg! She gets better. Absolutely stick to your guns. ‘Is it a lot of money for you indeed’ I think we know who it is a lot of money for, and it is not your problem.

Shame your lady at the PO such a stickler because I’d be sending that back enjoying knowing it cannot be delivered. But I am a petty fucker.

Rhombus79 · 14/12/2023 23:25

Love the idea of just sending her 2kg worth of her fabric 😂

Also, I would absolutely just shove it in a parcel post box if I could but she only provided the qr code and the booking confirmation, not the label itself. So I have to go to the post office to have them print it.

Honestly, it's nearly Christmas and I don't even want to think about it anymore. If she hadn't been so rude and entitled, then we could have solved it like grown ups. But I feel petty and just gonna leave it for now. She can sort the right label after her holiday.

Thanks for all the advice ladies!

OMFG she is completely crackers! Blaming you for the delay, any minute now she's going to claim the tailor couldn't tail out of the teatowels in time for Xmas and she'll want to send you a bill for a last minute off the shelf purchase 😬

She can bloody well pay for a fucking label for the right weight and for RM collection from you from the comfort of her fucking holiday, can't she. As somebody else said if she can WhatsApp she can do the fucking label. One hand for the margarita, the other to type, sorted.

I'd be so tempted to tell her where to shove it.

I do also like the idea of posting 2kg worth for now in an effort to be "helpful".

At the very least tell her you're too busy to go to the post office again this close to Xmas and that she'll have to arrange for RM to collect from you.

And please do remind her that all of this fucking around is to correct HER mistakes, multiple! If she had sent the right parcels to the right places in the first place it would be done and dusted- likewise if she hadn't underestimated the weight of the fabric it would be on it's way to the tailor by now.

Grimchmas · 14/12/2023 23:31

Oh and the "sent the wrong fabric" thing in the first place also sounds like her fucking error too???

Rhombus79 · 19/12/2023 16:00

So, she decided to pay for a new postage label last Friday and the parcel was delivered today to her taylor! Hopefully that's the end of that!

But I am taking bets that she will find something else to complain 🙄

Thank you all for sticking with me and have a lovely Christmas!
