Anyway no surprise that Truss joined the antiTrans movement. She's all over the place ideologically, and so are her supporters. Like Braverman saying she's anti-immigrant but then supporting Truss to the hilt otherwise, and Truss is very pro-immigrant (part of Truss's Libertarian agenda).

But it's a kind of Libertarianism that doesnt extend to supporting TransRights. Lots of contradictions.

Pro women rights and child safeguarding aren’t anti-trans.

Do support intact male rapists in women’s prisons? Do you think a child fully understands the long term health implications of puberty blockers?

I am pretty furious at the idea that because I define sex factually I am exactly the same as the useless and arrogant Liz Truss. It is ludicrous that it has somehow become the norm to think that way.

There was an opportunity for trans people to seek liberation as the sex they are. There still is, and I hope one day we'll get back onto that track.

It breaks my heart that the left are still not listening. That they are handing freedom of speech, safeguarding, and basic science to the right on a plate.

What the fuck did they think would happen?

Everyone knows that men aren't women. If people on the left are prepared to lie about that then how can anyone trust a single thing they say?

Eurgh, tell me about it.

I was in a work meeting (HEI) last week and although the issue didn't explicitly get brought up, equality did and then a supposedly educated academic brought up the suggestion of having a representative from Stonewall on a panel. I really don't understand how these types of discussions are still ongoing and how people just can't see the utter absurdity.

I suppose I don't give women enough credit for stating the obvious in public, given that I'm scared to do so myself.

I can assure you she doesn’t. She doesn’t want anything come back to politics and never wanted the job - I assure you. I’m not her but I know her.

She was a crap prime minister, but to be fair the one before and after were crap too.

but she’s been ….’a women has a vagina, periods, menopause and a bloke has a penis, no vagina, no periods and no menopause and calling breast feeding breast feeding’ ….. since she was about 20. She has two lovely daughter and is on women’s rights and didn’t pussy foot around the issue.

TBH, her stance on this - belief in reality, made me hope she was a realist in other ways too.

Absolutely.

I have to ask myself why the left, the Labour Party, thinks so little of women and how that is ever acceptable in a democratic society?

There is one one sex that can bear children and have the burden of the sexism that goes with having those reproductive capabilities. Why does the left think that this is insignificant and that women are an 'identity' rather than a biological reality?

Women are killed and harmed because of our biology not because of regressive sterotypes that have been adopted by imposter males.

It makes me sick to my stomach that in a time when the Labour Party should be the allies of women that they hate us so much that they would rather us not vote for them than win the election. Or they just don't care.

Labour are such a dissapointment and no one should criticise Liz Truss for pointing out that women are more worthy.

She was quite open about this since she was Minister for 'Equalities'

@abominablesnowman you could at least acknowledge that Truss cut the cost of applying for a GRC to £5. Which that article linked to above failed to do.

The constant attempt to force the idea that the recognition of sex is transphobia is the single biggest barrier to any kind of genuine progress on this issue. I can't say that men are women because they say they are, and that girls I've known all their lives are now men. I can't take seriously a movement that requires me to say that sex is assigned at birth. These things are stupid lies. I vote to get the Tories out and I thought Truss was a disaster as PM. Tell me how to support trans rights without having to tell lies.
