One opinion that you have that will never waver, no matter what?..

That I was right to not get vaccinated against Covid.

The chocolate should be stored in the fridge! (Room temperature chocolate sucks!)

That it’s better for 98% of the population to have lots of opportunities and 2% to have none, than it is for 100% to have a few.

Interesting, why shouldn't it be equal?

I understand this. Take our classrooms. We would rather put 1 disruptive student in and hold back the whole class than remove that student and have the other 29 children learn unimpeded. It’s better for society for the latter to happen.

It’s partly as the poster above says, but mainly something more.

Over the last few decades we’ve correctly determined that some people had unequal opportunities. And we’ve correctly tried to address that. But to give certain people equal opportunities requires such effort and financial cost as to make it hard to justify. And whilst we often talk the talk, we don’t back it up with additional resources.

I am talking a little about the disruptive children in schools, but mainly really those who require substantial care and support. Our Councils are going bust, the services provided by them to millions are crumbling, because of the insanely high costs of caring for a tiny number.

Why should millions have their own experiences and opportunities blunted to support that tiny number?

Could you consider them a woman even if they acknowledge they are biologically male but born in the wrong body?

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:16

That the damaging effects of misgendering upon someone have been over-hyped and over-played. You can identify how you want but if someone gets your gender identity wrong it won't affect you any more than someone calling someone Karen when their name is Katrina. Seriously it won't kill or harm anyone.

Real hatred of trans people on the other hand is a real problem e.g. Beating them up, refusing them a job because they are trans when their gender identity or birth sex won't affect their ability to do said job, refusing them housing or health rights. Now these are serious issues.

yes I meant you can’t change dna 😂

I knew somebody who had a termination because she lost an argument with her husband and wanted to teach him a lesson.

Jeeezzz!!!!!! Was that after the lobotomy to teach her parents (or whoever!) a lesson?!

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:23

Now for a serious one: Pineapple not only belongs on a pizza but actually tastes lovely with ham or chicken and mushroom.

Rocksonabeach · 03/12/2023 22:24

FatchyPog · 03/12/2023 13:16

We can change DNA, eg human genome editing and we also change how our body reads DNA sequences, don’t we? Epigenetics?

You can not change dna in your body in the cells in your body

CVVW · 03/12/2023 22:26

If there is 100% evidence that somebody has killed somebody then capital punishment is required.

CVVW · 03/12/2023 22:27

I'm talking video footage and/or DNA all over.

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:32

@DaizenShine no, I think I would just consider them 100% a man, but one who identifies as a woman (which is his or their right to do so). Does it matter as long as they are treated respectfully and treat others respectfully? At the end of the day we are free to classify them as we like and they can classify themselves as they like. I couldn't care less what they are as long as nobody's rights to personal safety are violated of course. I don't think male sex criminals who identify as female should be allowed to be housed with females. They can consider themselves women if they like but we don't have to consider them women.

80's and 90's kids tv was amazing and the teletubbies were the beginning of kids tv becoming shite

It is an absurdity to suggest anyone is born in the 'wrong' body. They may be unhappy with their body, as many people are for various reasons. We are not disembodied brains with interchangeable body parts.

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:35

70s and early to mid 80s kids TV was the best ever.
60s and 70s popular music was the best ever but 80s still pretty good. After that it all went to shite.

Yes I understand your take. I'd hope you are happy to refer to them as their chosen name and she/her of course. I don't think anyone is comfortable with male sex criminals transitioning to women to be honest, total opportunists!

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 03/12/2023 22:40

How can anyone possibly be born in the wrong body?! It's a nonsense. It sounds like you mean that there's some kind of production line where disembodied spirits are systematically plopped into a designated body and sometimes the spirit-plopper misses its aim! You are your body. Your brain, which holds your personality, feelings and experiences, is an inextricable part of your physical body!

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:41

Many self declared non binary who were born as girls are just what we used to call tomboys. There isn't anything wrong with their brain they just not girly girls. It's not a mental illness it doesn't need fixing. It's just an expression of non conformity. And that's ok. It's a normal part of growing up to question ones identity and place in the world .

ArthurbellaScott · 03/12/2023 22:44

Third person pronouns are decided on by the person using them, not the person they are referring to.

I always just use their chosen names. My trans friends are happy with that. We get on fine but then again none of them are the activist types who try and encroach on anyone's safe space. In other words they are harmless and considerate to others . It's a small minority of
TRAs who are the issue. I'm sure @Menomeno 's D D is lovely.

That parents have stopped parenting children under the guise of gentle parenting and we are now experiencing the full effects of this with overly anxious children who can’t behave in school.

They are scared. They are sad. They are over stimulated. They are poorly nourished. They can’t have conversations. They don’t read.

Absolutely this.

CatsCocktailsCareers · 03/12/2023 22:48

@BeReet I agree with you! Most of these parents aren't gentle parenting they are permissive parenting. Real gentle parenting done well actually builds children with higher self esteem and sense of security.
