Chocolate/s you would love to be given at Christmas (or anytime really)

Inspired by another thread and posters' differing tastes. What chocolate/s would you be thrilled to receive in your Christmas stocking and what type would make you glum/potentially regift? Though obviously grateful for the thought!

My all time favourite is Green and Black's Sea Salt chocolate bar (not always easy
to find) closely followed by Bendicks Bittermints. I would be soo disappointed
with a box of Ferrero Rocher.

lighthearted

I would love a box of ferraro rocher 😂 or a bar of Montezumas Minted…and a new find which I recommend to all is Lindor Raspberries and Cream…..…delicious!

I would regift anything with white or dark chocolate.

Guylians - I always buy a box for Christmas!

Mothership4two · 02/12/2023 07:45

I concur @Zaney40 - I had a weekend in Bruges where I rather over indulged in them. There is a handmade chocolate shop not far from here that are on a par

I covet violet and rose creams, Fortnum and Mason ideally but I can still work with Lidl 😊

Mothership4two · 02/12/2023 07:46

I have never tried them @bossybloss

Charbonnel & Walker Champagne truffles!

olderbutwiser · 02/12/2023 07:47

Charbonnel & walker Marc de champagne truffles. Best ever was the c&w advent calendar from a few years back with a truffle a day.

most disappointing ever was the very cheap nasty lookalike given to me by my well meaning mother in law, probably bought from the pound shop. They tasted like plastic. If I get those again I will cry.

It’s become a family joke that I get given Ferraro Roche every year as everyone knows I don’t like them!

What do you do with it?

Mmmm Charbonnel & Walker truffles sound nice. May have to have coffee and chocolate for breakfast now - sadly don't have any C&W lying around!

Booja booja champagne truffles- free from everything but taste amazing! Introduced to me by a coeliac mumsnetter who is sadly no longer with us. Fond memories and a great reminder.

Chrispackhamspoodle · 02/12/2023 07:54

Fortnum and Mason champagne truffles.
So good.So expensive also so it'll be M&S for me.

Tighginn · 02/12/2023 07:56

Any Montezuma over 70%.

DelightfulDoris · 02/12/2023 07:56

Monty Bojangles for me please

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 02/12/2023 07:59

The booja booja vegan truffles are indeed amazing. I bought them when they were reduced in Waitrose once as close to best before date not realising that they were vegan. They were fantastic, I would definitely buy them again.

I live charbonnel et walker. All of them. The more boring sounding milk chocolate truffles are fantastic. The M&S champagne truffles are a very good dupe at about a third of the price.

RepetitiveMotion · 02/12/2023 08:00

Yes please: Datery signature box - chocolate coated dates, beautifully decorated - coconut, pistachio etc. Get these as a treat each year and we all love them. Also love proper Turkish Delight from Borough Market stall. Rococo chocolates also nice.

No thanks: any truffles or liqueur/boozy chocolates or indeed Ferrero Rocher! We have an in family joke about Tofiffee so there are always some of them gifted too.

TropDrôle · 02/12/2023 08:04

I love Baci, the dark chocolate ones. So much nicer than Ferraro Rocher and you get a nice little message inside.

I hate milk or white chocolate or anything with liqueur.

HelloandGoodMorningPlease · 02/12/2023 08:05

Booja Booja truffles are the best! I also have to have a box of Bendicks Bittermints or it really isn’t Christmas

Mothership4two · 02/12/2023 08:17

Have given Mum Monty Bojangles and Booja-Booja truffles over the years. Very nice. Usually get offered one and then the box disappears!

I like Ferraro Rocher! Also Booja Booja and Lindt, plus I've ordered Pierre Marcolini to try this year based on recommendations on here. Never tried Charbonell and Wlaker though so I'll add those to my list.

I wouldn't like to receive Thorntons, Quality Street, Kinder Bueno, Nestlé, or anything with peanuts as DH is allergic and we can't have them in the house.

Neutral on Cadbury and Hotel Chicolat.

Mothership4two · 02/12/2023 08:23

Family member used to bring back chocolate flavoured dates from the Middle East when they worked out there. They look underwhelming but taste delicious. I'm afraid I prefer the cheaper probably inferior Cadbury's Turkish Delight to the 'proper' stuff. Grew up on it. Love a boozy liqueur chocolate.

Haven't tried Baci or Pierre Marcolini. Another lot to add to the (growing) Christmas wish list. Or Tofiffee - not adding that!

Fortnum and Mason rose and violet creams. No one else likes them so I never have to share 😁

Mothership4two · 02/12/2023 08:27

Searching cupboards for chocolate for breakfast. DS had better hide their chocolate advent calendars!
