Just for fun. Worst Christmas songs

Hey all,

Just a bit of fun but what are your worst christmas songs that make you turn the radio off?

Heres my top 3:

Paul McCartney - wonderful Christmas time.
Beach boys - little saint nick
The waitresses - christmas wrapping

Let's hear yours.

It's a bit much all at once when you put the radio on this morning and haven't desensitised yourself first. That's OK just some gentle classic fm carols as a warm up before moving on to the Mariah and Noddy.

The best one must be Cashing in on Christmas by Bad News, which kept Cliff Richard off the No 1 spot in 1987. Not for any musical brilliance or anything, just that it made Cliff Richard sad.

Mariah Carey is the worst and then Santa Claus is Coming to Town after that . both really dreadful whiny stuff .I heard Silent Night being played on a saxophone today and it's was beautiful are most of the traditional Christmas Carols.

Agreed. I've just switched off the radio a minute ago to this track.

I love all the songs mentioned other than Mariah Carey. I wish she'd stay in the deep freeze, she defrosts mid November and is then inescapable Envy

I can't stand listening to anything by Mariah Carey.

Mariah for sure.
I've only been hearing it recently, but Joni Mitchell's River can get in the bin too. Just mentioning Christmas doesn't make it a Christmas song, which is why it pisses me off.

Having lived in Africa in the 80s yes, we did know it was fucking Christmas and we had a great time…oh and we were happy there wasn't snow.
Africa is not a country.
Africa is not Ethiopia in the 80s.
Other religions exist.
Only white singers were available to sing lead apparently.

"there won't be snow at Christmas time"...Um Kilimanjaro usually has snow on it in December

Saviour’s Day wins for me - dreadful. “White Wine in the Sun” is hands down the best Christmas song ever written and I will not hear otherwise 😜😄.

I'm no fan of Bob Dylan but I do have a soft spot for his Must be Santa Claus. It's quite jolly and I can ignore his gravelly voice. 😂
