Post office would be handy too, it closed down (thanks mccolls!)

Same here - it might be that we live in the same place. Has your dentist closed this year too?

A mountain.

That is what I would like too.

Bluelightbaby · 03/12/2023 00:18

A village shop

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 03/12/2023 00:39

A train station. Used to have two until Dr Beeching swung his axe.

Tauranga · 03/12/2023 00:40

A climbing wall

smilesup · 03/12/2023 00:54

Clean air. In a big city and I'm the worse 5% of pollution in the UK apparently. However we do have much of what other people want

Swimming pool. M&S Simply Food. Twice weekly outdoor market. Free town centre parking. Police station. Tom Hardy.

AliceMcK · 03/12/2023 01:25

A public swimming pool

xogossipgirlxo · 03/12/2023 01:29

Train station and decent bus service not the shitty one that gets cancelled and you have another one in an hour. We’re stuck with car, they can tell us what they want, clean air blah blah blah. There’s no public transport here.

hoobanoobie · 03/12/2023 01:32

A huge amount of police funding so they can actually deal with what's happening daily. I won't hold my breath.

Giggorata · 03/12/2023 01:58

More woodland and pasture, with footpaths.
More hedgerows
A lake.
Gas

transformandriseup · 03/12/2023 02:14

I don't expect much living in a rural village but there is no pushchair/wheelchair access to the shop and to access it you need to walk up steep stone steps as it's a Victorian building.

In the nearest town lots of things are missing or just closed for good now. I don't think there is a single bank now and they took the atms with them when they left so you have to drive to the supermarket.

@alwayscrashinginthesamecar1

ill swap you the beach for my Waitrose (5minute walk), M&S food hall (10 min drive)

where abouts do you live?

I lived in NZ, 2 minute walk to the beach, wouldn't have wanted a bar there & Valencia & the bars/cafes/restaurants on the beach were great!!

I returned to the U.K. & don't have either.

I'm in Western Australia, there are a lot of beaches here, I would like just one with a beach bar! Although I struggle on, drinking cocktails by the pool 😁As for the Waitrose thing, when I lived in the UK it was a lovely supermarket full of lovely things that you couldn't get in sainsbos, is it not like that any more? It was expensive though, but a nice treat. They always gave you free stuff when they delivered too. I will be sad if its not like that any more!

Summerscoming23 · 03/12/2023 03:17

Coffee shop and bar in walling distance

cleverusernamehere · 03/12/2023 13:38

What is a pump track?

MolkosTeenageAngst · 03/12/2023 13:41

An Aldi or Lidl. My local supermarket (in walking distance) is a small Sainsbury’s and it’s so expensive. Although I would also quite like a Waitrose or M&S foodhall, wouldn’t use them often but sometimes might like to get a posh dessert!

You need to quote The Equality Act (2010) to the manager. They have to make adjustments to enable disabled people to access the store.

Assuming you're in UK, @transformandriseup

oh. LOL. Stick with your beaches & your memories of Waitrose!! I lived in NZ for many years. Right on the beach.

I suppose Waitrose does have a few nice bits, but I'm not really a fan. I think lots of others like it much more though.

you struggle on with cocktails by the pool. It was 0° here all day!

I was born & half grew up here, then NZ, now back. People all ask me why? That's getting harder to answer these days (younger & pre Covid it was always 'travel').

still I'll enjoy being able to actually see all the Christmas Lights 😂😂😂
