Give me your best shots. Here's mine so far:

Home Alone. The tarantula scene. The confusion on his face, the realisation as his eyes get wider and wider. Then... that high pitched, hysterical scream to end all screams. Absolutely fucking hilarious! Nothing beats it. Nothing.

The Burbs. When Corey Feldman yells "Yo Rumsfield!!" and Bruce Dern stumbles with fright, goes flying off the roof and shoots the car window when he lands.

Uncle Buck. Shatterproof... 🤣

Notting Hill. Fancy a fuck?

The dinner table confessions in The Campaign.

Shivermetimbers13 · 07/02/2024 20:35

So many scenes from 'Love and Death with Woody Allen and Diane Keaton. You might not like him but by heck, he's funny. A lot of it is totally not politically correct today.

Edited for spelling

AlpacalypseLlamaggedon · 07/02/2024 20:36

Austin Powers doing a 42 point turn in a golf buggy.

AngryBird6122 · 07/02/2024 21:08

Recent film with Jennifer Garner and Ed Helms (Family Switch) kissing scene. We were all cracking up.

wellerhugs5 · 07/02/2024 21:09

We really love the scene 'Puny God' in Avengers assemble 😆
Loads in Thor Ragnorok which is simply hilarious and also Guardians of the Galaxy had some really great belly laughs for us.

But so, so many from the old movies - National Lampoon Christmas Vacation is genius.

I can't remember many scenes in particular as my brain is like Swiss cheese, but I think of the movies that I can rewatch and laugh at over and over again they are the Steve Martin, John Candy, Bill Murray type movies which were so innocently funny and brilliant to grow up with as you could watch them with genuine pleasure and laughter as a family. And they are still fantastic years on (love Uncle Buck!)
I may be reading too much into this haha, but there aren't many 'new' movies that cater to that these days.

We've gone on holiday by mistake. Withnail.

The bit that always kills me in Withnail is the close up of the chicken sitting astride the brick.

Piggletta · 07/02/2024 21:19

National lampoon's vacation 'Rusty stop playing with the dog'.

Gonksmum · 07/02/2024 21:20

I love the confused guards in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Backwiththeillbehaviour · 07/02/2024 21:21

This trailer from Tammy

Many scenes from Airplane.

The scene from Bridesmaids 'reckless driving'

LunaNorth · 07/02/2024 21:29

The Simpsons Movie - Bart skateboarding naked.

The food poisoning scene in Bridesmaids.

Way Out West when Stan Laurel hides the deeds to a goldmine in his shirt and gets the giggles when the woman tries to retrieve it.

When Steve Martin and John Candy snuggle up in their sleep in Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Withnail and I, “GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN!!’

The funny sex scene in Dolemite Is My Name.

Most of The Full Monty.

Xtraincome · 07/02/2024 21:30

These are bloody brilliant.

What About Bob? - the bit where Bob jumps on Dr Marvin's back by way of giving him the Hiemlich manoeuvre
Airplane! - his "drinking problem" (pouring it down his shirt) and "Leon's getting larrrrrger"
Happy Gilmore - "I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast!" "You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?"
Loaded Weapon- the high speed chase with Tim Curry, Emilio and Samuel L
Goonies- chunks story about the cinema as PP said.
Coming to America - Sexual Chocolate

Edwardandtubbs · 07/02/2024 21:31

Ruprecht, put the cork on the fork - Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

All of Blazing Saddles but particularly the climax of the earnest speech when Gene Wilder says right in Cleavon Little’s ear ‘you know, morons’

A PP said the dinner scene in Carry on up the Khyber: ‘I appear to have got a little plastered’ is quoted all the time in our house

Boriswentcamping · 07/02/2024 21:46

The petrol pump scene in zoolander 😂

Mcgooch23 · 26/11/2023 22:59

Stone 'enge This is Spinal Tap

Oh yes! When he got stuck inside and the roadies had to basically hammer him out 😂😂
Also the foil covered Cucumber down the trousers airport scene 🥒😂

FrangipaniBlue · 07/02/2024 22:43

Bad Boys 2 where they go to the police chiefs house and Martin Lawrence is absolutely off his tits after accidentally taking drugs

Colin Farrell as the Coach when he fights the youths in the takeaway in the Gentleman

and of course..... "because you're fat, he's thin, and you're both fuckin ugly!"

mikado1 · 07/02/2024 22:45

McLovin showing his ID in Super Bad.

Lifebeganat50 · 07/02/2024 22:50

With apologies for this bent tv and not a film, but Del Boy in the wine bar in Fools&Horses will never not have me laughing like a drain

todayshappening · 07/02/2024 22:51

Fuzzy wuzzy was a woman?

Badaba · 07/02/2024 22:59

Uncle Buck: the scene where he's swinging golf balls at that asshole, and the scene where he interrogates a cute Macaulay Culkin.

Coming to America. Soooo much of it is too funny, but Soul Glo and Sexual Chocolate stick out.

PermanentTemporary · 07/02/2024 23:00

Woody Allen in Annie Hall at her parents' house in full Hasidic outfit.

I'm really struggling to choose a scene from Tootsie but I'll go with 'you were a TOMATO!'

Madeline Kahn singing 'I'm Tired' in Blazing Saddles.

MESSING2 · 07/02/2024 23:04

Agree with PP re Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Withnail and I and The Life of Brian (several scenes qualify from the latter, my favourite is probably Michael Palin hanging upside down in prison - "you lucky, lucky bastard!")

I'll also add the scene with Dan Ackroyd as Drunk Santa eating a fish on a bus (Trading Places) and Steve Martin as Ruprecht the Monkey Boy (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). Also Bill Murray meeting Ned for the umpteenth time and punching him in the face (Groundhog Day).

More recently, I remember the ambulance scene from Cocaine Bear completely totally cracked me up in the cinema, but I can't remember why.

Uncle Buck - the totally hammered clown. "Get into your mouse and get out of here!"

Minniliscious · 07/02/2024 23:14

The brawl in Twin Town. They’re all having a punch up to the song “Downtown” by Petula Clarke. Also, when Dougray Scott’s character punches that mouthy kid in the guts 🤣

EveryDayIsASchoolDayOnMN · 07/02/2024 23:18

Another Steve Martin one - In Dirty Rotten Scoundrels when Michael Caine is driving his lady friend, and it pans along and SM as Ruprecht the monkey boy is driving with a toy steering wheel

Planes, Trains etc - "THOSE AREN'T PILLOWS!!!!" and they start talking in deep, manly voices about the baseball game

Nacho Libra - when he is showing off his moves on the nun, facing the wall in his new stretchy trousers
