The Moon just now (pic)

Walking this evening we noticed this wide circle around the moon so I whipped my phone out and managed to reproduce it, thankfully. I was quite excited, wondering what the heck it was until DP suggested it was connected to the frost, or something...
I am in Lancashire at the moment.
Can anyone else see this in the sky right now?

Taken at 8pm tonight. West Lancashire. Couldn't see the ring around the moon but I think this photo may have just picked it up.

I love the moon. I think 6 a full moon on Tuesday when I'll be at Edinburgh Castle. Hopefully I'll get a good photo then...

I think it's called a corona, caused by high altitude ice crystals. Probably.

Oh wow I wish I was going! A little less cloud here.

I'll try to take another photo when the clouds pass...

Yesterday my daughter commented that the moon had a rainbow around it. Like a halo.

Looks the same in Birmingham! We've just been out on the doorstep staring at it for too long 🤣

I was just going to say it’s a moonbow! Saw one in Dorset last year for the first time, never noticed one before.

A lunar halo caused by the light refracting on ice particles.

The Northern Lights are active as well.

It's a beautiful moon here as well, we also had one bright star accompanying it.

I think the 'star' is Saturn
