Both in Nottinghamshire:
Burton Joyce - sound like a lovely old couple;
Gotham - sadly pronounced Goat-uhm, not like its more famous fictional namesake!
Peter's Finger
If you're referring to the tiny little road of that name in Worcestershire, it's not that far at all from Clegg's Entry!
A nearby posh village also has Twatling Road (annoyingly pronounced Twott-ling) and Mearse Lane (pronounced to rhyme with purse, but I always read it 'properly' as Jim Royle would say it!)
All of them not far from Wyre Piddle, as we've already had (obligatory on these threads!), but there's also a very nearby place known as Piddle In The Hole (sadly, I don't think it's big enough to have any signs - although they'd constantly get nicked, if it did).
Talking of frequently nicked signs, there's nothing funny about Ham or Sandwich individually, but both together - fabulous!
Shilbottle (not funny in itself but what's funny is the person who changes it to Shitbottle constantly.)
See also Dogpool Lane in Birmingham (the 'l' is constantly painted over) and Penny Hill Lane in Lincolnshire - with the 'P' changed to a 'B'!
I also notice that, whilst it's common for town/city names to be abbreviated on road markings to the first few letters and the last - such as Nott'm, Card'f or Manc'r - I notice that, for some reason, the council in East Sussex didn't do the same for Wannock!
I'd have to add Loughborough - mainly because it's so confusing to tourists, but also because of both the wonderful 'alternative' rendering of 'Looger-brooger' and also Dave Gorman's comments on there being a 'low-brow' university there!
Another one here who assumed that Surbiton was made up for The Good Life, as a kind of generic suburban equivalent of 'Anytown'.
