How many saucepans do you have?

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 22/11/2023 20:49

Currently I have 3 stainless steel and 5 non stick. The non stick ones need replacing. I seem to be erring towards buying a new set of 3 of both types …. Is 9 saucepans silly? Am I just getting sucked in by Black Friday deals? I only have 5 rings on the hob after all….. but then we do use more than that on Christmas Day 🤔

In other news….why am I so hopelessly indecisive?!

I have 3 saucepans. 2 stainless steel and one small non stick milk pan. All have lids which drain the contents so no colandars required.

GarlicMaybeNot · 22/11/2023 20:54

5 pans, 5 frying/sauté pans, 1 huge casserole.

Only now I've got a Ninja thingy, I also own about 57481 very small trays, dishes, tins and silicone pots to use instead Confused

A new set of pans gives an inexplicable amount of pleasure! Go for it.

mondaytosunday · 22/11/2023 20:56

Are saucepans pots? I have two one small one medium, plus one very big one with handles on both sides. I have three pans, I guess I mean frying pans?

Saucepans? 6. Only one is non stick.

Also a casserole dish (hob and oven use).

A wok, 3 frying pans. All non stick.

Why not buy 3. See how Christmas goes with the 3 SS and 3 new ones, with the old non-stick as back up. After Xmas, you can send the old ones to the scrap man, and either buy 3 more or stick with the 6 you have.

Goldwakeme · 22/11/2023 21:05

I have one pan, one frying pan and one cast iron casserole dish. I sort of could do with another pan, but I hardly cook really and whatever it is can usually be microwaved instead.

Spendonsend · 22/11/2023 21:08

I have 3 frying pans and 3 saucepans. Big, middle, small. They are stainless steel

I also have 2 sizes of cast iron casserole dish.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 22/11/2023 21:10

4 stainless steel ones that were a wedding present 20 plus years ago. Still going strong.

SgtJuneAckland · 22/11/2023 21:12

I have 6 saucepans, but I also have 3 cast iron casserole pots, two deep, one is shallower so probably 8 in total.

RoseMartha · 22/11/2023 21:12

5 saucepans (1 milk pan, 2 regular, 2 slightly larger).
And
An omelette pan non stick
And a frying pan non stick
And a poacher

AlexandraPeppernose · 22/11/2023 21:16

4 stainless steel saucepan set
1 cast iron casserole dish
1 cast iron frying pan
1 carbon steel frying pan
1 carbon steel wok

I cook alot and this is plenty.

Also have 2 cheap ikea non stick pans for the teens to trash. Replaced yearly.

Floralnomad · 22/11/2023 21:20

3 saucepans
2 frying pans
A large Denby sauté pan ( that can go hob to oven ) .
It’s plenty for me and I cook quite a lot .

JamMakingWannaBe · 22/11/2023 21:23

4 steel saucepans with draining lids
1 wok
1 steel frying pan
1 non-stick saute pan
1 one-egg frying pan

Drawer doesn't have room for more.

AvengedQuince · 22/11/2023 21:23

Three stainless steel ones and a stainless steel pressure cooker. Two stainless steel frying pans. Nothing non stick.

SkyFullofStars1975 · 22/11/2023 21:26

I've got 6 Stellar saucepans (in 3 sizes), a Robert Welsh frying pan, a Le Creuset skillet and a Le Creuset roasting pot. Along with a set of 3 Le Creuset saucepans, two sizes of Le Creuset casserole pots, and a massive Stellar stock pot. Oh and a Le Creuset oval shallow casserole that I use nearly every day.

I love love love my saucepans. It's taken me about 30 years to get a collection that I'm really proud of Grin

Pearbear · 22/11/2023 21:34

Oh gosh so many pans, a set of 3 non stick pans, a set of 3 stainless steel pans. At least 4 frying pans of various sizes, a sauté pan, a wok, a griddle pan and a Le Crueset casserole, and a big casserole dish that came with the non stick pan set. I live on my own and rarely entertain at home so don’t need all these pans.

Iwant2beJessicaFletcher · 22/11/2023 21:37

I have 4 saucepans, 2 frying pans & 2 large sautée pans that I use constantly. I actually need at least 2 more small saucepans. All induction ones from Procook & completely worth every penny.

AHeadForHeights · 22/11/2023 21:40

Several but we only use 1. 2 at a push.

Dominicains · 22/11/2023 22:01

I have:
2 non stick frying pans (one big with lid, one small)
1 non stick griddle pan (rarely used)
2 shallow stainless steel pans with lids, one with long handle, one with two side handles (both rarely used)
1 non stick milk pan
3 medium stainless steel saucepans with lids, two with long handles, 1 with two side handles, it’s a bit deeper but holds the same volume
1 big stainless pan for pasta
1 bigger non stick pan for soups
And a Wok.

apart from the three rarely used and the wok (all kept in the utility room), the others are each in play at least two or three times a week as I WFH and like to do eggs or mushrooms on toast for breakfast, make my own soup for lunches and cook all our dinners from scratch.

TLDR; Buy the pans!

echt · 22/11/2023 22:06

Saucepans - 5, an ancient orange Le Creuset set my late DH bought long before I knew him.
Casseroles - 3, one a massive Le Creuset picked up for £1 at a summer fete.
Frying pans - 3 one of which is only for dry roasting spices.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 22/11/2023 22:16

Le Creuset stainless steel two medium saucepans, one small all with lids, one milk pan, a griddle pan, a frying pan, only the milk pan is non-stick. A Wok from somewhere else, Sainsbury's possibly.

Chatterboxy · 22/11/2023 22:17

4 saucepans including a milk one
1 steamer pan
1 large stock pot pan
1 frying pan
1 griddle pan

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/11/2023 22:20

I have a set of 4 Stellar plus a jug pan and a saute pan too. 2 non stick frying pans, one have pan and non stick pan and a wok.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/11/2023 22:21

Oh and a crepe pan too!

NCGrandParent · 22/11/2023 22:22

3 stainless steel sauce pans (2 with lids, one without) plus one hob and oven cast iron casserole with lid.

I have more frying pans. Maybe 5? 2 small, one pancake and 2 large.

hattiemouse · 22/11/2023 22:22

I have three saucepans. I dislike cooking immensely so it's very manageable. I use the slow cooker and steamer a lot, however.
