What is your ultimate dream pet?

Doesn’t have to be one that can be domesticated. It can be literally any animal

My dream would be a fennec fox. I know people keep them as pets sometimes, but it wouldn’t be ideal whilst I’m in rented accommodation. Plus they are very pricey and require a lot of special attention and needs.

My other dream pet is a sphinx cat but my dh can’t stand them. He hates naked cats

I'd love a miniature donkey!

A chihuahua (long haired) and a sheep. I've wanted a pet sheep since I was 12 and I'm 56 now.

Gorgeous. They are so gentle and intelligent. The ultimate dog. I don’t know why they are not more popular.

They are wonderful. I waited 35 years for one and it was worth the wait. Whatever you do, try and have a Rough collie one day.

@Soubriquet I love Fennec foxes they have such lovely huge ears and eyes but my favourite would be an arctic fox, so cuddly!

overall though, I would love a couple of Capybaras. These "Guinea Bigs" are so gentle and friendly and would enjoy playing with my guinea pigs. I've seen videos on YouTube of capybaras playing with their domestic "cousins" and it's funny to see how they have very similar mannerisms but the capybara makes a different sound and is of course aquatic. I would have a huge pool for them to wallow in, or maybe an onsen (hot spring ) with waterfalls like they have for them in Japanese zoos.

I'd love to befriend a raven. Not keep it in my house, so not really a 'pet'. I think very few animals actively want to live with us. But I'd love it if I knew a raven and it came to visit.

There are actually loads of ravens in my town every winter. They sit on the lampposts and say 'crunk'. But I don't know how to make friends with one or whether it would be in the bird's interest. I always say hi to them!

@Objectionhearsayspeculation how wonderful, strange and magical - thanks so much for sharing that. Dues your hate not have is own Facebook fan page? My Norwegian First Cat did - he had more friends that I did! I loved that big cat.

@robinsnest1967 they are not all they are cracked up to be. Lambs, especially in little lamb herds, are adorable - the orphan ones will swarm around you sucking on your fingers, your clothes, and will run around jumping for joy and generally frolicking. Sheep are quite stupid and I lost two fingernails to one despite them actually not having two rows of teeth!
