Does anyone vape in the loos at work?!

Just curious!

I work for a very large, very professional corporation, but a couple of times a day, I go to the loo and have a few crafty puffs. (Very non-smelly, fairly inoffensive type of vape that doesn't produce enough smoke to set off alarms)

It's highly unprofessional, but im just wondering how common it is! I can't be the only one!

Wtf am I reading? It would never cross my mind that anyone would do this, I can't believe how many on this thread say they do. It's scummy as hell!

grayhairdontcare · 22/11/2023 18:30

I do vape but not at all at work.
I go 9 hrs between leaving for work and getting home

timetorefresh · 22/11/2023 18:32

Don't do that! Those vape chemicals really trigger my asthma and I bet it's not a rare thing!

It’s an open secret where I work. An inside joke we have is who has had a shit in the vaping room? 😅😅😅

Love this!

And yes I do vape in the loos at work!

Glenthebattleostrich · 22/11/2023 19:02

So many inconsiderate people on this thread. They trigger my asthma so I hope you enjoy your crafty jolly puff next time an inconsiderate user leaves me in A&E.

I'm retired, so no work loos for me - but I do vape - smoked for 40+ years, and it was the only thing that worked when I tried to quit. I vape all day, every day - but I mix my own vape liquid, and it has 0% nicotine - it's just a habit. The chemicals in my vape are vegetable glycerine - VG - (same stuff used in fondant icing) and propylene glycol - PG - which is used in many cosmetics and approved for use in pharmaceutical preparations - including intravenous ones.

I add food flavourings to my vapes - a favourite is vanilla custard - and that's it. Most commercial vape liquids have similar ingredients, for those wondering. I don't inflict my vaping on anyone else (other than DH, who still smokes - outside).

Oh, and the reason some vapes produce more vapour than others is to do with the ratio of PG to VG - more VG makes bigger 'clouds'.

I find it really frustrating that people gleefully admit to doing this. My asthma attacks have risen in frequency since vaping gained popularity and my inhaler use has doubled. According to the clinic I attend I’m not alone in this.

I recognised I had a problem with vaping. It’s amazing that people are defending this. I hated vaping in the toilets, I felt like absolute trash, but I was totally addicted. I vaped because my body was craving it so badly that I vaped in a bog with people crapping in the next cubicle along. This isn’t something to be proud of, there’s no defending it. It’s shameful.

You would only use air freshener when necessary if there is a bad smell. Vape won't replace the occasional need for air freshener so it is an additional problem that should never be happening in the first place.

Jesus- that’s even worse- spraying air fresheners. You know those are all toxic as hell. But hey, as long as you get your fix
😡

Pipistrellus · 22/11/2023 18:10

Some people do take a while in the toilet due to health issues or periods. They do have to breathe in there. Just keep your nasty vape out!

Why the assumption I vape. I don’t vape. I never smoked either. I just don’t find the smell of vapes as bad as the smell of poo and found it a little bit ridiculous the amount of people that basically hijacked someone’s thread to bully someone they never met with their own agenda. If you don’t like vaping create your own thread don’t hop on someone’s that says it’s specifically for Vapor’s. I still find it ridiculous and you won’t change my mind.

Pipistrellus · 22/11/2023 21:17

The thread does not say it is only for vapists. Anyone can express an option on an addiction that adversely affects others. I don't know why anyone is comparing it to poo which is unavoidable and what toilets are for.

Does anyone vape in the loos at work?!

literally in the title.

My answer would be yes, at least one inconsiderate person does so at my workplace.

Moveoverdarlin · 22/11/2023 21:23

When you’re vaping in the toilets at work and breathing the air in to big roll, it’s time to really think about where you want to be in life.

Like someone else said it’s like adults sucking on dummies.

I don’t and as far as I know nobody does in my workplace (school) but it’s possible. I wouldnt be any more worried about the chemicals in second hand vape vapour than I would be about people spraying perfume/ air freshener/ deodorant etc which people definitely do.

TotteringByRosie · 22/11/2023 21:39

Our whole building of 500 people was evacuated today because someone vaping in the toilets set the fire alarm off!

Pipistrellus · 22/11/2023 21:42

The title is likely to be read both ways, by vapists and by those negatively affected by the selfish behaviour of some vapists

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 22/11/2023 22:44

I don’t because in order to keep myself off the cigs I have to treat the vape like a cigarette so I don’t smoke it anywhere I wouldn’t have smoked real fags.

This means I trudge down to the grim smoking shelter but it’s worth it to keep me off them.

KnockKnockKnockPennyKnockKnockKnockPennyKnock · 22/11/2023 23:02

Big difference between eating something/applying it to your face and inflicting it on the cilia in your lungs though. PG in high doses intravenously can cause toxicity.

Two selfish people I know vape in work. One has had a warning and if found again will be fired for gross misconduct, they don’t know about the other one yet but I can tell when either of them have been in there.

CutiePatooties · 22/11/2023 23:04

I’ve never done this. I would vape in the morning, leave it at home while I was at work and then vape all evening. I get anxious vaping around people as I know others don’t like the smell/puffs of clouds coming out, so I just don’t do it in public. I was the same when I smoked tbf.

I’ve had to stop vaping now, because my brother’s had 2 seizures in the space of 2 months and been told they were triggered by him vaping too much. Not sure if he was just having me on, but it’s scared me into quitting!

But the scent is distinctive....and normally disgusting.

Years ago I used to smoke cigarettes - after quitting I find the smell revolting, yet better than the vape smoke that sticks in my throat

Malarandras · 22/11/2023 23:12

In my office this would get you sacked thankfully.
