How rude was Cliff Richard to Alison Hammond?! 😲

Hi,

Had TM on in the background earlier and I was absolutely shocked at how casually rude Cliff Richard was to Alison Hammond. Not directly to her, but MASSIVELY inconsiderate and offensive nevertheless.

He was talking about the reason he missed his chance to meet Elvis and he explained that Elvis was overweight at the time and he knew he'd put up a picture on his wall of him and Elvis, but didn't want to if he "overweight and didn't look good" 🤨🙄 He went on to say something else not looking good if you were carrying extra weight and you could see how upset Alison was. She came back with something and tried to be humorous about it, but I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want to call him out on it there and then. And obviously it won't have just been Alison who would have been offended by his clumsy, tone deaf comments.

Did anyone see it? So bad 🫤

The Elm Guest House conspiracy (which has since been debunked) claimed that CR’s nickname was Kitty.

If you know something, please go to the police. Don't make vague suggestions on a public forum...

In fairness, the gagging orders are so intense and the pull and clout of someone in Cliff Richards' position is so intense that going to the police will probably get you nowhere.

For example a minute proportion of assault victims get justice, and a lot of white collar crime goes undetected and unpunished. That's for ordinary people. When it comes to a high profile star, the protective mechanisms are even stronger.

We may never know what Cliff Richard did or didn't do. But when super-injunctions exist, no one can ever say for sure what's going on and 'going to the police' is like pissing into the wind. Just no point.

LBFseBrom · 21/11/2023 15:07

It's almost as if some people want others to be found guilty of something sordid, they take delight in every rumour, are eternally suspicious and I can picture them rubbing their hands in glee. Why not think the best of someone until otherwise proven?

DeeKitch · 21/11/2023 15:19

Am kind of dreading the answer!

DeeKitch · 21/11/2023 15:21

twenty years ago police had a two inch thick dossier on Sir Cliff - they all do as they please and super injunction

Floogal · 21/11/2023 15:24

He still had gangster friends who would host orgies for lords, MPs and celebrities.
At best he's a bad judge of character who kept bad company.

Old biddies are surely the main rolling stones fan base?!

Of course they are! Who else is going to fancy 80 year old, stringy, wrinkled men?

& now I have to youtube this 😂Irish accents on film cannot be done unless it's Steve Coogan or Brad Pitt in Snatch (& that's a Travellers accent so even harder!)

Daisy Edgar Jones pretty good too. Perhaps, in fairness to Tommy Steel et al , the studios wanted the stereotype rather than the real accent.

Rather like they wanted Cliff to copy Elvis . Whereas , when the Beatles came along, rock n roll had already died on its arse. Elvis was doing corny ballads. Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochrane were dead

God some people on here are so nasty. About someone who's given his whole life to enertaining others and worked tirelessly for charity and good causes, who has been treated appalling by the police and the BBC in the past. Alison Hammond is gorgeous and would have taken no notice, she works in tv and must be very confident to deal with various people. I wish people would stop and think before stating someone is a 'wrong un'. We all know what you are implying, so you are either homophobic or suggesting something very very bad, I hope this thread gets removed.

Edited

How DARE you speak for AH and declare her to be unbothered?! How the fuck do you know how hurt she was? Just because she 'works in tv' doesn't mean she doesn't have feelings ffs! And conversely, just because he's raised money for charities doesn't mean he can be a cruel bastard!

Give your head a shake! JFC

PabloandGustheGreySquirrels · 21/11/2023 16:30

@mydogisthebest You sound vile, not to mention downright bloody vain!

Jamout · 21/11/2023 16:37

A horrible and stupid thread, all-round.

Sartre · 20/11/2023 14:08

I don’t think he was aiming it at her and if she was upset about it, perhaps she isn’t happy being overweight?

What a horrible thing to say. He was a nasty c*nt and you've just spun it right round onto her and tried to justify his despicable words.

@GrandpaFlumpAndHisFlumpet

But I find it interesting that not one solid citizen has made an allegation

As a point, sometimes people who have been assaulted as young never are able to become stable adults simply because of the effects of the assault - if they got no support, were blamed for it or told it didn't happen etc, or it was just too much. Self medicate with drugs / booze etc.

They might end up 'not solid citizens' but it doesn't mean the assault didn't happen. Effect and cause.

It's an incredibly difficult area.

DancesWithDucks · 21/11/2023 17:26

@NewspaperTaxis

Trust me - if there really were a nationwide state-authorised paedophile ring, the Met wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. They have no form on that but they DO have form for covering it all up.

The lost Dossier

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_paedophile_dossier

A dossier on paedophiles allegedly associated with the British government was assembled by the British Member of ParliamentGeoffrey Dickens, who handed it to the then-Home Secretary, Leon Brittan, in 1984. The whereabouts of the dossier is unknown, along with other files on organised child abuse that had been held by the Home Office.[1]

"On 29 November 1985, Dickens said in a speech to the Commons that paedophiles were "evil and dangerous" and that child pornography generated "vast sums". He further claimed that: "The noose around my neck grew tighter after I named a former high-flying British diplomat [Hayman] on the Floor of the House. Honourable Members will understand that where big money is involved and as important names came into my possession so the threats began. First, I received threatening telephone calls followed by two burglaries at my London home. Then, more seriously, my name appeared on a multi-killer's hit list".[8]"

@@CharingX976 When this sort of thing happens, comments like 'report it to the police' seem incredibly naive.

I have no idea if CR is clean or not. But 114 files went missing first, and now the whole dossier. When a dossier like this and all its copies go missing it is impossible to have faith that accusations of child abuse at high levels are false. No one can find out.

Yes they have, and the one I know that did basically had her life ruined for it.

PureHoney · 21/11/2023 18:34

Just seen the clip. As well as being horrible it’s just so weird “I opted not to meet Elvis because he’d gained weight” is perhaps the least relatable anecdote I’ve ever heard.

BIossomtoes · 21/11/2023 15:31

Oh that's just charming

Iwasafool · 21/11/2023 19:03

I think I qualify as an old biddy and I can assure you I don't fancy wrinkly old men, even if they are famous and millionaires.

porridgeisbae · 21/11/2023 19:09

@DancesWithDucks The Dickens dossier was complete made up nonsense. He believed all sorts of flakey stuff. I imagine it was just binned as utter paranoid drivel.

porridgeisbae · 21/11/2023 19:11

Yes they have

@DuckDragon Against Cliff? If he is a wrong'un I hope it does come out, at least when he dies.

Can I ask your basis for saying that? I hadn't heard that before.

DancesWithDucks · 21/11/2023 19:29

Have to say I'd very much like to believe it wasn't accurate. But it seems very strange that 114 files couldn't be found, and then the whole thing.

Iwasafool · 21/11/2023 21:05

I don't understand why Dickens didn't keep a copy, or leave it with a solicitor or in a bank safe deposit box.

DancesWithDucks · 21/11/2023 21:07

If there was something sinister really going on, then pressure would have been put on his solicitor or on the bank.

NewspaperTaxis · 21/11/2023 22:49

There was a similar thing going on with Lib Dem MP for Rochdale (is that right? I get it mixed up with Rotherham) Cyril Smith, as outlined in the book Smile for the Camera, in which he availed himself of various kids' care homes. Evidence compiled or handed to the press went missing, I think the Met were involved. Usual charming stuff.

What I recall odd about that book, which I got from the library, was that while the freemasons are briefly mentioned in it, there's nothing on them in the Index!
