If someone broke into your car right now what would they get?

Just stepped out of mine and made a note that if someone broke into mine they would find designer prescription sunshades, designer regular sunshades, a cheap pair of glasses, a coin purse with about 50 quid in it, 2 dog leads, an umberela, a denim jacket and shopping bags.

£3 in parking change
car documents and car related stuff in the boot (red triangle and a tyre pump thing).

That’s it I think. Absolutely nothing personal that’s ‘mine’. I keep my car really clean and tidy.
dh and the dc though… I can’t speak for them!

capabilityfrowns · 19/11/2023 17:12

Ebola probably

Polis · 19/11/2023 17:14

A very expensive chainsaw and a half eaten packet of salt and vinegar crisps.

DeanElderberry · 19/11/2023 17:15

Shopping bags, empty plastic feed sacks on their way back to the man I buy logs from, an umbrella, a thing for scraping ice off the windows, gloves, a few euro, my lottery ticket, a tube of hand sanitiser, a bottle of tap water used for cleaning the windscreen if I've been stuck behind something big and splashy, a little bottle of holy water.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 19/11/2023 17:15

A blood glucose monitor, some glucose drinks, some needles and stuff, biscuits. An asthma inhaler. An emergency heart spray and some aspirin. Lucky thief if they have a collection of medical conditions

The charging cable is saleable I guess?

LubaLuca · 19/11/2023 17:17

A pair of M&S sunglasses, a USB lead and a case containing an emergency kit in the boot. I don't leave much in the car, I'm not in it very often.

Ohmylovejune · 19/11/2023 17:21

@MalcolmTuckersSwearBox

Possibly, where the seal breaks for the roof to retract and it may not be meeting properly when the roof is put up again.

Dreadful in this weather as had to.put a tarpaulin on and wait as its constant. Don't move to Cornwall!

WillYouPleaseStand · 19/11/2023 17:21

Sunglasses, dog leads/harnesses, a bag of candy kittens, blankets, some stuff for the charity shop which o keep forgetting to drop off and a lot of bags for life!

BoobyDazzler · 19/11/2023 17:22

2 spades, some wellies, several sets of muddy waterproofs, some knee pads and a lot of mud and rubbish. Oh and loads of fossils, bits of metal -mostly lead, and glass bottles.

We we’re burgled 6 years ago and although they stole both sets of car keys they only actually took my husbands car, such is the state of mine 🤣

tianabiscuit · 19/11/2023 17:23

Absolutely nothing. I only got it yesterday and haven't put any crap in it yet 😂

Gnomegnomegnome · 19/11/2023 17:24

About five coats, a tutu, a pair of wellies, a pair of heels, a book, perfume, lipstick, gym kit and a water bottle.

Also enough hair to make a whole new dog.

Justanothermanicfunday · 19/11/2023 17:32

Couple of jackets, umbrella, fleece blanket, phone chargers and possibly my Earpods (can't find them anywhere!)

whatausername · 19/11/2023 17:35

Me sitting on their face farting away. How dare they break into my car!

labamba007 · 19/11/2023 18:05

A bra and some wellies. I had a long journey home and bra was digging in, so decided to choose comfort. Really must go get it though 😂

Bemyclementine · 19/11/2023 18:08

A stack of workbooks the primary ages DC brought home from school. Swing ball set. Frisbee. Football. Wellies . Couple of old towels. Yard coat. Whip. Horse rug.

cheeseandketchupsandwich · 19/11/2023 18:18

McDonald's crumbs, gum, perfume, a pushchair base, a car seat, a seat tidy, wipes, tissues, baby toys, a usb wire and an empty air freshener

SweetPetrichor · 19/11/2023 18:24

I don’t keep much in my car other than essentials so they’d just get:

  • my car maintenance/emergency kit which has a tyre inflator, ice scraper, map, tyre pressure gauge, 20p for checking tread, and a very cosy hi-vis bomber jacket and gloves.
  • about £1 in change for those moments when a parking meter doesn’t have an app.
  • a picnic basket which is used for securing any loose food purchases so they don’t roll across the back seat.
  • 2 bottles of chocolate Yfood which is really part of the emergency kit.
  • my very old dashcam.

I try not to leave anything else in the car cause it’s just extra weight, which means extra fuel and increased costs!

Chicheguevara · 19/11/2023 18:25

Probably fleas. I loaned the car to a neighbour to take her cat to the vet in an emergency. I am dischuffed that there are fleas, but the cat is ok which is the main thing.

feelingalittlehorse · 19/11/2023 18:34

A face full of dog hair.

If they can clean it, they can keep it imo

verdantverdure · 19/11/2023 18:34

Spare tyre, emergency kit, two bags for life.

Perfectlystill · 19/11/2023 18:35

thentheycameforme · 19/11/2023 18:37

Four camping chairs, a beach bag with towels, games, suncream etc, at least 4 books, a torch, sellotape, wrapping paper and scissors, bottled water, a charging cable, a coat, blanket and wellies and about £4 50

Secnarf · 19/11/2023 18:37

My husband.

VikingLady · 19/11/2023 18:38

A Primark hoodie, some peperamis, a first aid kit, emergency cans of coffee and chocolate covered coffee beans, and industrial quantities of snotty hankies.
