If someone broke into your car right now what would they get?

Just stepped out of mine and made a note that if someone broke into mine they would find designer prescription sunshades, designer regular sunshades, a cheap pair of glasses, a coin purse with about 50 quid in it, 2 dog leads, an umberela, a denim jacket and shopping bags.

A carrier bag of cd's (had to access fuse box behind glove box so they've been taken out)

Dash cam

Three festival chairs

Some tyre blowy up thing

Two pairs of glasses (prob £300)

Two pairs of sunglasses

Orange fluffy blanket

Large amount of bags for life

idontlikealdi · 19/11/2023 15:21

Nothing. Ours got broken into a couple of months ago and four pairs of Ray bans, chargers and the spare change - don't leave anything in there now.

funbags3 · 19/11/2023 15:21

They'd need a good wash afterwards.

MigGirl · 19/11/2023 15:22

Wellies, a blanket, large umbrella some water bottles, rubbish some old magazines. Nothing of much value really, this does however reflect the very wet weather we have had recently as my wellies maybe need to get out of a flood.

RedRosie · 19/11/2023 15:22

A small blue teddy bear and some sunglasses for driving 😎 🐻

WreckTangled · 19/11/2023 15:22

Two pairs of sunglasses (one prescription), pair of prescription glasses, paracetamol, beats headphones, empty shopping bags, umbrella, kite, two birthday cards, DD’s advent calendar, a big onesie for ds, a hot water bottle and five rolls of Xmas paper. Need to bring the Xmas bits in when the dc are in bed.

MorriganManor · 19/11/2023 15:23

2 Smurfs and a spare set of contact lenses.

AllLopsided · 19/11/2023 15:23

Car documents, shopping bags, walking stick, cereal bars, hand sanitiser, tissues (used and unused), prescription sunglasses and normal glasses, pair of trainers for physio, about CHF 20 in change (emergency parking money), spare key to my front door, and a toiletry bag containing a couple of doses of controlled meds (!), hand cream, makeup, wipes and several nearly empty tubes of deep freeze gel Grin

Just realised that the key is a bad idea because my address is on the car documents, but DH keeps locking himself out when he borrows my car!

StopStartStop · 19/11/2023 15:24

480 Yorkshire Tea teabags
One man's jacket (mine, I'm not a man, very warm)
Three pairs of scissors
My prescription sunglasses
My broken spectacles
baby wipes
lens wipes
Gaviscon
tissues
Shopping bags (huge numbers, all kinds)
My Harrogate parking thingy

TragicMuse · 19/11/2023 15:24

Bags for life, a quantity of old cables and adaptors for the cigarette lighter, a very old Garmin Satnag, £1 for the trolley...

Very little!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 19/11/2023 15:25

My Caria a bit of a dumping ground plus I try to have enough stuff so that if I ever got stuck away from home unexpectedly I have spare clothes, I probably have at least a couple of sets of a full outfit change plus PJs and various types of footwear including sandals, trainers, wellies and slippers. They’d get a coat, swim kit & towel, hat & gloves. Think I have an air bed & pump in there plus some board games. I also have a load of CDs, snacks/ water/ sweets, few pairs of sunglasses… who knows what else! Nothing of value but just all the crap I don’t use day to day that I’ve never bothered to clear out of it!

QueefofSheena · 19/11/2023 15:25

Spare specs
Box of tissues
Rituals car freshener thing that was a gift and doesn’t fit in my vents, so it just rattles around in the cup holder
Whichever snacks DS has squirrelled away

MrsDilligaf · 19/11/2023 15:26

I cleaned my car on Thursday so there's no random crap in it. Give it another couple of days though and it'll be full of junk again.

Pthalo · 19/11/2023 15:28

£4 in car park change, a half used lip balm, two CDs and an old coat

IncompleteSenten · 19/11/2023 15:28

My husband's golf clubs and bag and his gym bag and kit, some cologne, breath spray, a seatbelt extender and random crap in the glove box (old receipts and the like)

they'd also take away an almighty stench that would linger on them for a fortnight because he hasn't cleaned the car since he did a run to the dump.

DottyMacaroon · 19/11/2023 15:29

Someone did break into mine last week and took nothing, because it’s just a load of rubbish in there lol

IncompleteSenten · 19/11/2023 15:29

Which sounds like I'm saying he shat himself but I'm talking about the refuse and recycling centre.

Jewelspun · 19/11/2023 15:31

Death.

I'm out with some of my dogs and about to nip in a shop and one one is a Belgian Malinois who wouldn't take kindly to a stranger invading his space!

The others might not attack but they'd join in with eating the thief.

Bluevelvetsofa · 19/11/2023 15:31

A shopping bag
Several masks
Car manual
A pair of non prescription sunglasses

All in the glove box

A half empty pack of sweets
A microfibre cloth

In the side pocket.

OuiOuiKitty · 19/11/2023 15:31

A big pack of toilet roll. I bought it earlier and forgot to bring it inside. That's about it.

daveded · 19/11/2023 15:31

Shopping bags, a blanket, sunflower lanyards, napkins, gift vouchers I keep forgetting to take out the glove box for local shop, glasses, blue badge, chewing gum and Pringles.

Redlarge · 19/11/2023 15:31

An infection.

Redlarge · 19/11/2023 15:31

An infection

As476 · 19/11/2023 15:32

A soggy swimming kit, a soggy forest school kit, a soggy pair of work boots, some battered old sunglasses and 5 broken lighters. Possibly a snail if they’re lucky, I can’t find the fucker but he’s definitely living in there somewhere!

DatingDinosaur · 19/11/2023 15:34

@AllLopsided Please take the car documents out and leave the key.

In my car they'd get some sweet wrappers, a cheap pair of sunglasses, a broken umbrella that makes do for dashing in and out, a folding chair, a couple of CDs, a dog blanket and a lot of mud.
