I'll start, I tried Audreys last year, made in the Hove and do or used to supply fortnum and mason.
I spent around 27 and chose my own. Extremely good and a real treat.

Tastes foul

I think if Audreys chocolate was that good they wouldn't have to come onto MN to advertise it

Give me a bar of marvellous creations any day

Montezumas hands down amazing. They have a shop in Oxford.

Their giant chocolate buttons are fab. Ain't cheap though.

Vettrianofan · 17/11/2023 19:38

Ritter Sport Christmas edition!

Coffeeandchristmascake · 17/11/2023 19:39

I second Montezuma's

Bestchocolate · 17/11/2023 19:42

@mizu had a quick look and they look like truffle type specialists? Also I can't see anything on palm oil. They look interesting though.

I don't mind truffles but was hoping for something more all around amazing. I'm also extremely fond of Rose and violet creams at Christmas.. If anyone knows who does a good version of those.

Booja Booja.

These are pretty amazing too.

Cadbury's was always crap. I buy Aldi Moser Roth. Proper chocolate, no bollocks, inexpensive. I also like Tony's. Never heard of Audrey's. Sounds like an advert post.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 17/11/2023 19:52

Tony's Chocolonely.

Bestchocolate · 17/11/2023 19:57

I don't work for Audrey I was merely trying to give as well as get on here. Audreys are fab but I'd like to try something new this year.
I'm fed up of being let down by crap chocolate.

I was inspired by the botel choclate thread, i spent about 25 quid on a Xmas treat box a few years ago and was sorely disappointed... I'm afraid I don't like Cadbury much any more. @mizu that looks very promising thanks

@mizu that's more what I was thinking of, smaller artisan style outlet

Course you don't work for Audrey's...bestchocolate 🤣

Justonedayatatime11 · 17/11/2023 20:35

I definitely don't work for Audrey's (wish I did, I'd save a fortune) but their chocolates are the best in my opinion. Expensive but worth it.

Bestchocolate · 17/11/2023 20:46

Oh lord, there really is always one, isn't there. 🙄😜II wish mn had an edit poster function sometimes.

I want a box of rose and violet creams as well, I've had some in Audrey last year and also one year had chernoble and walker

There is a Mumsnet thread from nearly two years ago in the ‘Chat’ section with the title “Best Chocolates Ever?”

Look it up in the search box and you will find lots of answers and links to artisan chocolate makers. Incidentally, Audrey’s of Brighton was recommended there too!

Bigroundpear · 17/11/2023 20:49

Islands chocolate is AMAZING, big buttons they’ve got a sort of Smokey caramel background, just so good.

for rose and violet I think charbonnel et walker do them?

Bigroundpear · 17/11/2023 20:50

Lol at Chernobyl 😬

Springingintosummer · 17/11/2023 21:50

Holdsworth and Booja Booja.

I also like Monty Bojangle vegan ones.

CurbsideProphet · 17/11/2023 21:53

Old Bank House Chocolate 🤩
Online and they have a shop in the Lakes.
Their chocolate is so delicious.

lanawinters · 17/11/2023 22:24

Audrey's have emulsifiers... try Booja Booja

BarbaraofSeville · 17/11/2023 22:32

I bought Audrey's based on MNs many recommendations. They really aren't anything special, compared with other, cheaper and more widely available brands, have a suspiciously long shelf life and contain palm oil. Postage was a bit of a rip off too.

I won't be buying them again.
