i ended up with two black eyes, didn’t see it coming. She found out later we had a shared older meaner friends than her so sucked up to me after that. I was happy to let her grovel. God school was such a jungle back in the day

Don't be ridiculous, it was a random thread posted on the wrong board. This is the topic where trans stuff gets shunted to, it's not a topic for talking about women fighting in toilets. So of course people thought there would be a trans angle.

I just don't understand how this relates to feminism at all. So some women got into a fight, and? It happens; humans have been fighting with other humans for as long as there has been humans!

I feel like you don't understand that this board is the equivalent of being sent to isolation at school for wearing trainers, having tramlines in your hair or wearing a skirt that is deemed too short.
If you post about anything else in AIBU, chat or the general feminism board it doesn't get sent here. This is where all the naughty terfy posts get sent so they don't offend the right thinking members of society who don't want to see our unkindness.
Personally I don't think we should be sent to isolation but we are.

It was really shocking , I'm not a complete prude and have seen my fair share of violence but this was particularly brutal. some of the posts did cheer us up . Wasn't sure which topic to put it on a list of loads came up . A pp said , don't start a thread , if you comment don't return to read responses. Then what is the point of even being on MN . I won't be bothering in future .

I think the point is...post in the relevant section. If you are unsure then look and read. You might think those women were behaving like scrapping tomcats (post in the litter tray) or just bitches (post in the doghouse). Clothes ripped off (style and beauty), so many places it could have gone. And if you had properly looked you would have seen chat and aibu as the busiest boards so more likely to get loads of responses.

Know your audience and you will be fine.

Your posting style was unusual. Especially as it turns out it was about women fighting. Weird way to open up a discussion, by having a guessing game. It was bound to get people’s backs up.

Why? I find your post unusually judgemental, it's obvious it was women fighting isn't it? That's exactly what the OP has said, women were fighting. In the public toilets. That's it, nothing else. No-one has to read anything further into it. Doesn't matter what 'board' they wrote it on.

You were the person who asked why people thought it was to do with trans. I told you why, because it was posted in feminism sex and gender, which tends to be where trans threads end up. Hope that helps.

To be fair, if someone posted the OP's little guessing game on the Gardening board, they'd get guesses like, 'did someone leave their geraniums behind?' or 'a shrubbery?'. On the Sex Topic board, presumably something sexual. On the Board where all matters relating to the social politics of the gender woo are corralled, you ain't gonna get geraniums.

The way the OP approached this thread would generate poor results and annoying anyone on any board.

Even more so because when the ‘story’ finally emerged it was still bloody difficult to figure out what the point of relating it was.

Imagine a gardening thread starting ‘guess what happened to me in the garden centre’, waiting 30 minutes and relating a story about a punch up over a new geranium variety. It wouldn’t go well too.

And that’s without the context of that being a board with a significant problem of people coming in to set trap threads trying to prove that geranium fans are a problem and worse than all other kinds of gardeners so they can post the ‘receipts’ elsewhere, or where garden centres are a key focus for such trap threads. And those posters then spend the thread playing the victim of the nasty, aggressive women on FWR.

I don’t think I believe any OP coincidentally blunders into these sort of situations.
