Suella Braverman is a danger to the UK and needs to go.

I thought Suella peaked me with her "lets take tents off homeless people as winter is coming" shite. But her performative cruelty is no longer a surprise.

She has surpassed herself in the last 24 hours and become actively dangerous to police and public with her remarks about protests. She is our Home Secretary. Her job is to keep us safe.

So why the fuck has she done the complete opposite with goady, childish statements about police and protesters?Shock

It's difficult to pay for flights home when you're homeless and unemployed
Many are not from the EU

Many are from the EU - we tried to deport them for free but it's against EU law;

2017 - The European commission has said EU member states have no right to deport EU citizens for being homeless and said EU citizens had a right to live in other EU countries “irrespective of whether they are homeless or not”.

SinnerBoy · 10/11/2023 13:18

We're not an EU member state.

I regularly walked past tents en route to work in Charing Cross, I never felt intimidated or threatened. I also had professional contact with these people, their stories are harrowing; mostly immigrants who were taken advantage of by UK employers predominantly in the building trade, whereby they were refused wages and/ or "housed" in squats in return for work. When they rightly challenged the legality of this, they were fired and subsequently made homeless.

Many of them EU citizens who could use their freedom of movement rights to look for work elsewhere - or return to their home country.

Surely they should be deported? they clearly have no means to live here independently.

Are you saying that the Tories aren't enforcing their own immigration laws?

I'm impressed that you ve taken the time to ask all of the homeless living in tents where they come from though!

rampagingrobot · 10/11/2023 13:21

She knows Sunaks government is dead in the water, so she's trying to get fired.

Then she can pretend to be a martyr of the woke leftie mob or whatever and not be tainted by losing the general election.

Then stand for Tory leader in opposition when Sunak resigns.

All the outrage is playing exactly into her hands.

Clavinova · 10/11/2023 13:21

We're not an EU member state

We were in 2017 - and no doubt EU rough sleepers have certain rights under the EU Settlement Scheme.

If you read my post, you would have read that I had professional dealings with the homeless population. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that I'd ask their country of origin which forms part of a holistic assessment.

I wonder who "funds" her?

Presumably the same people who "fund" Keir Starmer - your website link has a page on Starmer and his shadow cabinet;

https://www.declassifieduk.org/two-fifths-of-keir-starmers-cabinet-have-been-funded-by-pro-israel-lobbyists/

They are all the same , all being lobbied by various groups in the shadows that have their own agendas .

I don't trust a single one of them no matter what colour rosette they are wearing

I didn't say all - I said many - 25% of rough sleepers in London perhaps, I've seen that figure quoted before. If I remember correctly, two-thirds of Big Issue Sellers are Eastern European.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 10/11/2023 13:41

@jgw1 it's been happening for a couple of weeks.

Echobelly · 10/11/2023 13:48

Yup, she's a absolute liability. She could just say anything, it seems. If she stays in post I fear she'll say something directly and seriously inflammatory about the Muslim community and put people in danger.

She's already made it harder for the police to crack down on any extremists who may attend Saturday's protest because now the Met will have to be babysitting the far right thugs she's called upon to protect that the thing that isn't going to be targeted by the protest which isn't going anywhere near it. 🙄

I'm Jewish and I'm furious with her and feel she's given more people reason to believe that all Jews (whose behalf she feels she can speak of because of her husband) will refuse to tolerate criticism of the Israeli government.

jgw1 · 10/11/2023 14:05

TooBigForMyBoots · 10/11/2023 13:14

She seems to know fuck all about UK law too which isn't a great look for the Home Secretary.

Normally I'd be PSML at the damage she's doing to the Tory party and PM Sunak bending over and taking it, but she is actively endangering people here.

Indeed. Why when presumably her own civil servants and also I imagine the Met Police Commisioner have patiently explained to her that there is no legal basis to cancel Saturday's demonstration, does she still think it should be cancelled?

jgw1 · 10/11/2023 14:06

SinnerBoy · 10/11/2023 13:18

We're not an EU member state.

Heck. When did that happen? I think I missed it.

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 10/11/2023 13:41

@jgw1 it's been happening for a couple of weeks.

It certainly is a strange phenonmenen.

jgw1 · 10/11/2023 14:12

I must say I am totally unsurprised that Lee Anderson and Mariam Cates have spoken in support of Suella today.

Yeah that's the big problem, not those already calling for Jihad repeatedly and the fact that HAMAS leaders are playing a big part in a arranging these marches. If there's any trouble or the extremists kick off, which they've already been doing - see kicking and punching elderly poppy sellers and terrorising Jewish people - driving cars through their areas shouting about raping their women, it will all because we didn't all go along with the pretence that any issue arising whatsoever is down to The Far Right turning up. The cowardice and constant reframing to blame any tension in this country on The Far Right, a definition which now includes absolutely anyone who doesn't hold extreme leftist political views, is remarkable.

Do you know that it's not going on on Sunday and that they've made sure to steer clear of the Cenotaph?

Rather, the police have told the protesters to steer clear of the Cenotaph - 'they' haven't been respectful in previous marches:

But given the PSC has repeatedly abided by conditions imposed on its previous marches, the only conclusion the police can reach - unless they get intelligence to the contrary - is that a risk to the Cenotaph won't come from protesters on the march route.

I can put your mind at rest about the elderly poppy seller. He was neither kicked nor punched. I know you'll be glad to hear this.

The march was never going to go anywhere near the Cenotaph.

And the 'camp' (actually 'stage') was put up exactly where the police instructed it should be. They hardly could have erected it in secret and against the instructions of the police. You can't even stop a car around there without being surrounded by police.

May be some people do not find her so triggering. I am disgusted by the protests and the lack of respect shown to this country. A bit dramatic to call her truly evil. The woman is unhinged well so are the frothing lefties in the shadow cabinet. After seen KS replying what is working class in LBC may you should reconsider if he is fit to lead the country. But of course there will be millions of excuses for him.

There were thousands of Jewish people moved from Gaza when it was handed over the Palestinians in 2005

The point being that people from both 'sides' were displaced.

Before the Israeli state was formed, there was Palestine. Now only Gaza and the West bank remain of this country but for how long? Gaza is in ruins and look at what the Israeli settlers (with consent and support of the IDF) are doing now in the West Bank and have been doing for years. Compare like for like, please.

Met Police and Westminster City Council (Labour) both deny responsibility for allowing the stage - statements in the link;

Suella is correct, the majority, outside London want them stopped. They are about intimidation of Jewish and UK people. Gaza is just an excuse. People on MN seem to believe the terrorist group Hamas and its lies

Please provide evidence to support your post. I am waiting but I won't hold my breath.

When was the state of Palestine first established?
