Suella Braverman is a danger to the UK and needs to go.

I thought Suella peaked me with her "lets take tents off homeless people as winter is coming" shite. But her performative cruelty is no longer a surprise.

She has surpassed herself in the last 24 hours and become actively dangerous to police and public with her remarks about protests. She is our Home Secretary. Her job is to keep us safe.

So why the fuck has she done the complete opposite with goady, childish statements about police and protesters?Shock

Well it's amazing that the bar is so low that it's no longer about her competence, or her allegations that the police play favourites, or the Orange order are akin to Hamas; no, her defenders like to say she's got a point.

Okay if you are a journalist, but unfortunately she's charged with managing public order, which means she doesn't write incendiary articles for the Times.

And she is a vote loser. I reckon a further drop in the polls after this mess.

As Suella herself is the daughter of immigrants to the UK, I'm 100% confident she doesn't hate immigrants. Let's not conflate your opinion with facts.

It is an interesting theory that Suella doesn't believe what she says.

Rather begs the question why she says it though?

Indeed !

I am not sure there will be a further drop in the polls. Traditional conservatives in the Shires generally think themselves as compassionate, that they care for people and the environment. Small boats didn't move the polls much one way or another. When that was ditched in favour of more immigration and more climate change the polls didn't move much one way or another. That previously core part of the Tory vote that they need in many seats have left them. The remaining 23% or so of the population who say they will vote Tory may will continue to do so, and some of them clearly share Braverman's hate filled views. What may change though as the election approaches if Braverman continues is the anyone but Tories vote may harden so the Greens and Libdems may be squeezed in some seats.

bombastix · 12/11/2023 21:00

I don't expect a massive drop. The polls already put the Tories at 25 per cent. Down a few points.

She's unpopular with voters.

SinnerBoy · 12/11/2023 22:56

Cruella and Priti Patel have both been described as "pulling the ladder up behind them." A sort of I'm all right, Jack attitude the Tories of the Thatcher years espoused.

I don't think people dislike her because of her husband, rather, because she's an extremely objectionable rabble rousers. You know, we can dislike people because of their actions and not because of their relatives.

therealcookiemonster · 13/11/2023 00:15

yet she will probably be PM in about 5 years time... and that will be the day I finally move to Scandinavia and fulfil my lifelong dream to live as a viking

bombastix · 13/11/2023 08:08

Nah, I think she is finished actually. Too extreme. Like Johnson, unable to realise when she needed to make friends and keep her mouth shut.

My money is her being replaced by the end of the week.

No Tory will be PM in five years time, quite possibly not in ten years time.

DahliaJ · 13/11/2023 08:42

Braverman sacked.

Ding dong the witch is dead.

But I bet she'll be back...

Pushkinini · 13/11/2023 08:45

She's gone. But I think we'll only get a small reprieve from her next evil incarnation.

Zonder · 13/11/2023 08:49

Chris Mason suggested they might put Jenrick in to replace her. That would prove Sunak has learnt nothing.

bombastix · 13/11/2023 08:50

Goodbye. Hopefully in time we can reflect on how this ghastly woman was allowed so much power and who she was enabled by.

fireworksmyass · 13/11/2023 08:54

Thank fuck she's gone. Hope she never has power over anything ever again.

MyCircumference · 13/11/2023 08:55

hope you put money on it @bombastix

We have no hope of sorting the immigration crisis then do we.

bombastix · 13/11/2023 08:58

Bollocks. 600k people entering the UK legally last year. She presided over that.

20,000 asylum seekers in small boats who could be processed faster.

Really, she took the biscuit.

Do you mean without Suella? Because she was making such a good job of it?

Braverman did fuck all to solve it, so I'd say her going probably improves the chances quite radically.

Passepartoute · 13/11/2023 09:11

It's going to be interesting to see what, if any, support she gathers from the back benches. If I were Tory I would be hoping that it's going to be limited to Rees Mogg, 30p Lee, Gullis, Fabricant (if he's allowed to return), and very few others.

It's the clear out of all the ERG from the Cabinet. Good
