I am on holiday so planning loads of nice meals, and more than one course which is really only a holiday or weekend thing for us.

Tonight we are having;

Salad with pear, walnuts and blue cheese

Chicken and rice soup with dill and lemon

apple crumble and custard

Hoping for some ideas from others which I can plan as well!

I was exhausted after a long rainy week at work

I'd planned on spare ribs and salad but hey ho

We had steak, homemade oven chips, broccoli and sweetcorn.
DD had a yoghurt then
trick or treat sweets
Does that count as 3 courses?

My husband cooked. Roast beef, roasted and mashed potatoes, broccoli, green beans, peas, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing.

We had ham and coleslaw sandwiches. It was either that or a takeaway. Too knackered to think about cooking on a Friday night.

cardibach · 03/11/2023 20:49

@BatteredScallops it was fab - and really easy, as a bonus.

ArtyFartyQueen · 03/11/2023 20:52

We had jacket potatoes with melted cheese, sweetcorn and sausages cooked with red onion and garlic 😊

TomatoSandwiches · 03/11/2023 20:54

I made bolognese for everyone else but didn't fancy mince beef myself so bought a tray of Dirty Fries from M&S today, they had just the right amount of spice.

I made a beef tagine in the slow cooker, haven't made one for ages and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Timmydimmy · 16/11/2023 20:37

I did a steak and kidney pie and served it with mushy peas, mash and thick, thick gravy. Was just what was called for on yet another miserable day.

Timmydimmy · 29/12/2023 17:20

We are using up everything in the freezer before starting a health kick on Monday,so tonight I am using up a pack of mince to make beef and bean enchiladas served with corn on the cob and salad.

Melted some raclette cheese that we hadn't managed to stuff over Christmas ( chilli one and smoked one) smoked was best. Had with French bread and various pickley stuff. Iced top minced pie.... trying to get rid of all evidence of gluttony now. Washed down with Aspells cider

MissingMoominMamma · 29/12/2023 18:42

M&S lasagne. I make no apology.

Oh dear god. That is amazing.

We are stuck on Venison. Venison meatballs with creamy mash, kimchi (I know) and a shredded carrot, tomato, etc salad. I don’t know, it’s very weird but I’m loving it right now.
I love pear and walnut salads, oh my. I may be inspired to move on from the venison rut. (Arf)

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 29/12/2023 18:46

Jamie O's sausage ragu

bevelino · 29/12/2023 18:47

A nice Chinese takeaway.

Rainbow1901 · 29/12/2023 19:01

We are still on leftovers here - we had gammon, egg and chips last night plus trifle.
Tonight DH made himself Bubble and Squeak whereas I have had mini onion caramelised sausages, salt and vinegar twists, cream cheese appetisers, cold gammon slices and tomatoes, along with a glass of mulled wine. Trifle to follow later!!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 29/12/2023 19:22

I made macaroni cheese with some of the left over cheese. I'm not a fan so I'm having tuna steak with left over leeks than I just steamed, green beans and tenderstem broccoli stir fried with lots of garlic then doused in balsamic vinegar and black pepper.

Timmydimmy · 29/12/2023 19:29

Melted gooey cheese with French stick and some trash on the TV is definitely my plan for a lazy Saturday night in now. Will be in my elasticated trousers for a bit longer than January,I think
