Would anyone expect anything other than her book being bonkers. She is delusional.

UnderwaterSpaceCadet · 03/11/2023 15:25

I know she’s published a fair few fiction books; perhaps she’s trying to go grittier with this one?

She’s not even a Jeffrey Archer, though.

TooBigForMyBoots · 03/11/2023 15:28

Ooh.😱

TrashedSofa · 03/11/2023 15:32

I'm almost tempted!

Tinklyheadtilt · 03/11/2023 15:33

She is a lunatic.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 03/11/2023 15:43

Mad as a box of frogs. And getting worse all the time - she sounds quite unhinged when she is interviewed.

Voteva · 03/11/2023 15:46

Sounds hilarious

Does it have lots of close up pictures of Boris Johnson with Carrie cut out of the picture and big felt tip hearts drawn around Boris?

Or her head superimposed on Carrie’s

UnderwaterSpaceCadet · 03/11/2023 16:38

I hope Carrie / Boris don’t own any rabbits themselves

Well, from the sounds of it so far, if someone in govt IS trying to block publication, they should get an award for services to literature.

BonjourCrisette · 03/11/2023 19:47

She sounds really unwell.

Passepartoute · 03/11/2023 20:23

She really does need help. Otherwise she's just gong to become more and more deluded and will end up being sectioned for her own safety.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 04/11/2023 12:07

I scanned (really quickly because life's too short to waste on a detailed read) the Mail article and it reminded me forcibly of a mate who's gone down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole, thanks to Twitter/X during pandemic and after. Every meetup she tries a rant about the 'upper middle classes' (no idea why she's fixated on them particularly) who want to keep the rest of us servile and in our places.

Still, at least a lot of people reading this won't take Dorries seriously ever again.

BloodyHellKen · 06/11/2023 10:46

I've read the excerpts in the DM - assuming it's 'The Plot' you're talking about and I thought it sounded quite interesting. I suspect Nadine Dorries and I would disagree on many things politically but I love a bit of political tattle - I also really enjoyed Sasha Swires book.

I don't know much about ND, apart from the fact she is an ex nurse and supports BJ.

The fact she is constantly derided in the press makes me suspicious that someone, somewhere is doing a hatchet job along the lines of 'this middle aged woman is mad and sad etc etc' so ignore her. That alone makes me take notice of what she has to say because ageism and misogyny have been used forever to discredit middle aged women.

TBH even if she is mad/sad it doesn't mean that everything in her book is untrue and for that reason I think I'll give it a go.

Stopped clocks and all that

QED
So you don't like her, it doesn't mean that she has nothing interesting to say about the inner workings of Westminster.

DataPestle · 06/11/2023 11:21

@BloodyHellKen No, OP is agreeing with you. “Even stopped clocks are right twice a day.” ie, sometimes unlikely sources are actually correct.

If, as you say, you don't know much about her I highly recommend you look up some of her old interviews. They veer between utterly hilarious and absolutely terrifying. You may then understand why most sane people would take anything she said with a hefty pinch of salt.

This is a corker:

Nadine Dorries refuses to say whether she has spoken to PM recently in awkward interview

As the number of Tory MPs urging Boris Johnson to resign over the recent 'partygate' allegations continues to climb, Nadine Dorries has emerged as the prime ...

If I were Carrie I'd be worried.

BloodyHellKen · 06/11/2023 11:37

I know she's quoted as saying some real corkers and that she is a supporter of BJ (neither of which I'm endorsing btw) but I have a higher opinion of her than I do of people like Cummings, Gove etc al who she appears to be taking a pop at in her book . That's why I find the idea of her book interesting. She clearly has an axe to grind and when people have an axe to grind interesting information tends to come out 😁

BloodyHellKen · 06/11/2023 11:40

Coupled with the fact I think a lot of ire directed towards ND is pure ageism and misogyny. As I said previously that always makes me sit up and take notice because I know from experience that if people are using that to smear a woman then there's usually good reason they want them not to be taken seriously.

GunpowderGuido · 06/11/2023 11:44

She's a nutter.

Either this Dr No exists and really is willing to burn down houses with children it in and nail rabbits to the door. In which case this book goes too far and not far enough - enough to anger but in not naming him, not enough to stop him.

Or he doesn't and she is well and truly away with the fairies.

I know which I think.

flufferknutter · 06/11/2023 11:46

Dr No sounds like your average common or garden psychopath. I expect there's plenty of those in the Tory party.

Ifailed · 06/11/2023 11:51

she is a supporter of BJ

I know I shouldn't, but whenever I read of Nadine and BJ, I can't help thinking of her on her knees with Boris..........
