What makes you think it's the truth, @Chromium24? It's not as if Nads' track record demonstrates much of a connection between her and reality.

After reading many threads on mumsnet about different managers, colleagues behaviours etc, im guessing its fact.

plus using the authors past etc to discredit the book, does not make the book any less true, thats if the books information is true.

I've read the excerpts in the DM - assuming it's 'The Plot' you're talking about and I thought it sounded quite interesting. I suspect Nadine Dorries and I would disagree on many things politically but I love a bit of political tattle - I also really enjoyed Sasha Swires book.

I don't know much about ND, apart from the fact she is an ex nurse and supports BJ.

The fact she is constantly derided in the press makes me suspicious that someone, somewhere is doing a hatchet job along the lines of 'this middle aged woman is mad and sad etc etc' so ignore her. That alone makes me take notice of what she has to say because ageism and misogyny have been used forever to discredit middle aged women.

TBH even if she is mad/sad it doesn't mean that everything in her book is untrue and for that reason I think I'll give it a go.

.

First extracts from Nadine’s Boris book are absolutely bonkers

Definitely fiction, but its author won't agree.

Is it like Jackie Collins where it's loosely based on real people?

HerNameIsJennyAnyDots · 06/11/2023 20:09

I haven't read ND's book but it can't be as bad as BJ's. I found a copy in the library once and flicked through. Utter misogynistic drivel. Can't say I was all that surprised. I dare say that like Prince Harry's Spare it will make good loo paper substitute should another shortage ever arise.

I'm not sure what your post was supposed to mean, but I assume you're trying to make out I'm insane because I said I'd give ND's book a go which seems a bit unfair 😂

Yes, but her past history makes it less likely that the book's information is true. I mean, this is the woman who has been going around for years proclaiming Boris Johnson as a brilliant leader who has never lied, broken the law or shagged any woman other than his wives in his entire life.

Coupled with the fact I think a lot of ire directed towards ND is pure ageism and misogyny. As I said previously that always makes me sit up and take notice because I know from experience that if people are using that to smear a woman then there's usually good reason they want them not to be taken seriously.

I'm guessing that you're don't live in what was her constituency until recently. Believe me, there is no need to turn to ageism or sexism to dislike her. There are more reasons than I can count, and even the most Tory of Tories in the constituency could barely speak her name without spitting. She's a dreadful person.

Of course writing this book was what she was doing instead of representing us, her constituents. She closed her office, and hasn't held a surgery here for 18 months. So now, after 94 years of Tory MPs, we now have a very personable Labour MP. If you know this area you'd know that no-one would ever have bet on that. And it's the local fury against Mad Nad that enabled that.

That's the big IF, isn't it?

Fair enough, that does sound quite bad!!! 😂
