Inspired by the trending weather thread and the individuals who appear to be au faith with weather models, got me wondering what uncommon or unique thing you know a lot about and would be regarded as people's "go to" (if they knew)?

Mine is foreign exchange.

Crocodiles, alligators and sharks. Have been fascinated by them for years and have books on them.

Help me consolidate mine please 😆

@Alohapotato would you believe that shipping companies use PR agencies? I have spent years doing PR for them, I really wanted the 'cool' accounts where I would have got free stuff from luxury brands, oh no, I got 'shipping', not much point in sending me a free barrel of crude Grin

I have a partially photographic memory - if I pay attention to something I retain a lot of information. Can do all sorts of useless things - capital cities, flags, football tournament winners, kings and queens, PMs. Remember doing an online picture quiz with a 100 20th century world leaders. Got about 85 of them without resorting to google

World War II. Totally surprised a colleague of DH by arguing that Monty was as good a general as we could hope for, and that he did a decent job.

My head is stuffed with pop songs. I can name that tune and sing along to most things 1940-2000. It makes watching films a multi-sensorial experience and I have constant earworms.
With all that wasted brain power, I could have been a rocket scientist!

You clearly need to get yourself on Popmaster!! If you haven't done so already

How to spot if a wild boar has been nearby and what to do if one runs after you.

Funnily enough, neither subject has ever come up in conversation.

So, what should you do?

Health and safety in the workplace, especially construction and manufacturing, and the metrics to measure and track incidents - thanks to DH who works from home.

The Parsons Tunnel project in south Devon, because DD is working on it.

Life aboard a chemical tanker (ship) in the 1970s - DDad is a marine engineer and we used to be able to travel on board with him as children

In my own field - special needs education

My quiz specialities - anagrams, dingbats and novels

The Cormoran Strike books. I've read each one apart from the latest at least four times. Hours and hours of my life, I could probably have learned to do something useful in that time. Whoops.

Ship model conservation, I know a fair bit about this as it was step dad’s job and he often did work on ship models at home.
