Inspired by the trending weather thread and the individuals who appear to be au faith with weather models, got me wondering what uncommon or unique thing you know a lot about and would be regarded as people's "go to" (if they knew)?

Mine is foreign exchange.

Early medieval French religious dynastic strategy. Surprisingly not many people want to know more about that.

I would . Pm?

Favourite fun fact?

Show quote history

Well my favourite fun geological fact is that the Oklo uranium deposits in Gabon once formed a natural nuclear reactor which was discovered when uranium ore was found to be deficient in U-235. So what we had to wait until the 20th century to invent nature managed for itself 1.7 billion years ago.

And what I know a lot about that most people don't is uranium, thorium and radium in geologic settings...

Silent movies and silent movie actors/actresses/producers/directors etc. I'm fascinated with early movie making and have built a wealth of knowledge over the years, not to mention a massive collection of books on the subject!

You'd hope though if it was their specialist subject on Mastermind the contestant might have more niche knowledge than a (average) mumsnetter though @CesareBorgia ?

I can name every US state and it's capital.

This has never been useful. And was never necessary for me to know.

Would be useful if you were ever a contestant on Pointless. American geography comes up all the time!
