Symington maple & walnut table creams - a m&w blancmange, basically. It was gorgeous and my grandparents always had it for us when we stayed.

Cherrysoup · 24/10/2023 21:10

This thread makes regular appearances, why on earth have manufacturers not taken notice?!

Bring back Texan bars!

Cherrysoup · 24/10/2023 21:43

And passion fruit Bodyshop face wash! (Smells good enough to eat)

bmrising · 24/10/2023 21:48

I miss:
• The first vegan prepackaged sandwich to be widely available in the UK outside health food shops - hummus, grated carrot, & I think cress (certainly greenery of that sort) on really nice granary bread.
• Sacla mushroom risotto - absolutely delicious & took no time at all 💔
• When I was a toddler M&S did bear-shaped biscuits with icing like that on party-rings. The bears were, to my toddler self, ENORMOUS (or, at least, about 3 party rings tall & .75 party-rings wide at the narrowest points rising to a width of about 1.5 party-rings across the middle - the bears were standing up, like gingerbread men, but made of deliciousness & icing not allergen & itching). The icing was similar to modern party-rings in hue, too, rather than the lurid artificial shades of bygone times.
• Technically they’re not gone, but effectively they are: I really miss having [easy] access to Tofutti Cuties in the UK. I think some Kosher supermarkets [sometimes] stock them; but as I’m almost housebound a considerable distance from my closest one & not only do I not keep Kosher my family converted several generations ago so if I could manage to get hold of some I’d feel like I was stealing them from Jewish children… 🫣😵‍💫🥺😢

@Moominprincess
Flying saucer sweets with white sherbet in instead of the awful fruit flavoured sherbet they replaced them with.
[Mercifully] I don’t think I’ve ever had ones with fruit-flavoured sherbet in 🤢 I usually get Sainsbury’s own-brand ones 😊

@ShoesoftheWorld
They’ve given them a makeover - unlike the new vegan cream of tomato soup I think it’s a cosmetic/label change rather than a content change, but I may be wrong.

@MaggieMayNotBe

I remember the Mister Men yoghurts from when I could still eat some dairy (I’ve now an anaphylactic allergy to even trace amounts). I liked the chocolate one best of all - Mr Uppity.

Golden Graham's cereal and the old haribos. I've just had a pack of starmix and they are crap.

Lyons Cup Cakes

Were those a box of 6 in orange, lemon and chocolate flavours, in a silver cake case?

Justcashnosweets · 24/10/2023 22:20

Mr.Kipling strawberry sundae tarts. I miss them so much, best cakes ever.

MabelFurball · 24/10/2023 22:35

There you are. Was just reading through to see if someone had said this.

Cadburys Icebreaker bars.
Can't seem to find Classic biscuits anymore.

FussyPud · 24/10/2023 23:41

I used to love the Bovril crisps, so much better than beef ones.

What is it with Marks and Spencer discontinuing everything I love? There is a very long list from me: onion and apple chips, red curry chips, cookie ice cream and cinnamon and pecan peanut butter to name a few. I am now convinced M&S hates me.

YepyeoTep · 25/10/2023 00:04

Red coconut 🥥 boosts 😋

chumsnut · 25/10/2023 00:06

Realising that others have been ill treated by Marks and Spencers. Why do they keep discontinuing things things we like???

Glasgowgal200 · 25/10/2023 00:12

I remember eating something which was like a hot semolina pudding base and a flavoured topping thing in the 1990's. Can't remember what it was called. Also Spira, Drifter dark chocolate Bounty bars, fruit polos

Glasgowgal200 · 25/10/2023 00:15

Also think it was Golden Wonder low fat.crisps were lovely and m & s baked potato and butter flavour crisps

Cadburys Icebreaker bars.

Used to love these!

FuckYouEzekiel · 25/10/2023 00:53

Tubes (crisps)

ShoesoftheWorld · 25/10/2023 06:24

@TooFondOfBooks - at least they still exist (though I tend to be disappointed by any ersatz meat products called 'plant-based' - no idea why, it's probably the same stuff as in days of yore).

ShoesoftheWorld · 25/10/2023 06:25

I hate M&S too. I absolutely must have a Wensleydale and carrot chutney sandwich when I go back to the UK, and although they do still do them, they're getting harder and harder to find.
