I have already decided to learn Spanish, but what else shall I do? All suggestions considered!

Why will you be unoccupied for so long? That will affect the answers you get.

WhaleyWhalerson · 21/10/2023 19:02

Learn to crochet.

ProvisionsOnTheDock · 21/10/2023 19:03

Do a big cross stitch pattern!

Check with local charities for any admin tasks that could be done from home

letstrythatagain · 21/10/2023 19:05

I'd sign up to some sort of academic course where I have to dial in to lessons etc. that way you will still have interacting with people and keeping your mind active 😀.

Chair yoga

Thehonestybox · 21/10/2023 19:16

Pick a random subject and do every bit of research you could on it, you'll be an expert

Mavissdaviss · 21/10/2023 19:16

I have THOUSANDS of videos and photos of my kids. I’d start editing them into videos for each month/year of their lives. If you can’t video edit it can be very easily picked up using an app like imovie or InShot and you’ll be surprised at what you can do,

EmmaEmerald · 21/10/2023 19:17

Origami

I had a mad idea about making all the Xmas decorations that way.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 21/10/2023 19:19

Get a job wfh?

KenAdams · 21/10/2023 19:19

Coursera course, cross stitch, online surveys, YouGov.

Good idea! I've always meant to make photo books of each year, but I've never found the time (probably would if I came off MN 😁).

Cross stitch, crochet, embroidery, hand sewing, paint by numbers, write a book, do a course, family tree research, learn a language, buy a PlayStation and play some really long involved games 😬

TakeMe2Insanity · 21/10/2023 19:20

Knit, read - get a kindle, learn a language, coursera.

Nap.

In between all the learning and cross stitching and so on.

Ponderingwindow · 21/10/2023 19:22

my stint was baby related and thankfully not that long. I knit a very nice baby blanket.

Three or four operations each with a month or two recovery period, and chemotherapy and radio therapy

good suggestion, but I am not sure anyone would be able to rely on me for anything time sensitive, I might be better some stages than others
