She's died at 66. Feeling very sad. I loved her performances in all sorts of things, not the least being Camilla in the Windsors.

The patron Saint of gorgeous women who somehow manage to act gawky and awkward without being patronising.

So funny in Drop the Dead Donkey! Great on stage at the RSC

RIP

BMW6 · 20/10/2023 16:56

Oh crap she was great as Camilla 😥

CantFindTheBeat · 20/10/2023 16:57

That is so, so sad:

She was a brilliant actress.

I bet she was fantastic to work with. She had that air about her,

How sad for her family.

Fifireee · 20/10/2023 16:58

So sad she really was an amazing actress.

Butterkist8 · 20/10/2023 17:05

Very sad news indeed.

AutumnCrow · 20/10/2023 17:05

Oh goodness that's very sad. She was brilliant and funny in DTDD as @Allthegoodnamesarechosen says. And yes, her Camilla was wonderful. As was her role in The Canterville Ghost (with Anthony Head) which cheered me up last Xmas when I felt down.

She had a presence that was very special. Very uplifting.

Knackerelli · 20/10/2023 17:21

Such sad news. And 66, it’s no age. Saw her Lady Macbeth and yes she was brilliant in DTDD and a wickedly funny Camilla.

LightSpeeds · 20/10/2023 17:21

So sad. She was great...

FikaMika · 20/10/2023 17:21

Loved her in Drop the Dead Donkey and she was inspired as Camilla. What a talent.

MorvernBlack · 20/10/2023 17:22

Gosh 😥 Loved her in Drop the Dead Donkey.

RafaistheKingofClay · 20/10/2023 17:26

Oh that’s sad. Loved her in DTDD. She was a brilliant actress.

tobee · 20/10/2023 17:32

Saw her in The Threepenny Opera at the National Theatre - she was great, so funny.

How sad life can be.

BastetsWhiskers · 20/10/2023 17:32

She was really good

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 20/10/2023 17:35

Genuinely gutted. Loved her in DTDD and as a PP said, she was an inspired Camilla. She was brilliant.

mooncloud1 · 20/10/2023 17:42

This saddened me earlier, I remember her in Peak Practice

Siddalee · 20/10/2023 17:45

Oh no! I really liked her.
We’re due to see Old Friends tonight and she was one of the draws for me.

JSMill · 20/10/2023 17:47

First saw her in DTDD as a teenager and loved her. She was brilliant as Camilla in the Windsors. What a shame we'll never see her perform in that again. She was far too young. RIP

Pixiesfan · 20/10/2023 18:01

So sad. I had the pleasure of meeting her IRL through work. She was great.

Citrusandginger · 20/10/2023 18:19

I'm sad that she's gone so soon. I secretly wanted to be her DYDD character.

RoseAndRose · 20/10/2023 18:25

I loved her in DDTD and thought she made a brilliant Camilla

Only 66, far too young

Beebumble2 · 20/10/2023 18:25

Oh how sad, she was a brilliant actor and deserved much more recognition than she got. A National Treasure. RIP

HilaryThorpe · 20/10/2023 18:30

Does anyone else remember her in the TV adaptation of the David Lodge novel "Nice Work" in 1980? She was wonderful.

HilaryThorpe · 20/10/2023 18:37

1989 not 1980!

Don'tcallthepolice · 20/10/2023 18:37

What was that brilliant drama she was in in the 90s. She played an academic on a job swap with a car salesman she was great.

Don'tcallthepolice · 20/10/2023 18:38

Yes that was it Nice Work with Warren Clarke. It was great.
