Roadkill.

We are just getting into my favourite time of year. Pheasant and muntjac. Much better than May or June - badgers, fox and hedgehog I find a little sour.

StrawberryPavlova · 06/10/2023 15:45

Within good walking distance we have a Chinese and a chippy. Within walking distance but the food might be a bit cold by the time we get it home we've got another chippy, a pizza place and an Indian.

StrawberryPavlova · 06/10/2023 15:46

Oh and also in the walking but further away category we have a bakery for sandwiches and things in the day.

Natsku · 06/10/2023 15:55

I'd have to walk half an hour, the food would be stone cold by the time I got home, and the only options are pizza or kebab (and only one pizza place delivers)

reluctantbrit · 06/10/2023 16:51

30 minutes walk to either a chippy (good one) or a good Turkish restaurant. The chippy would mean a 20 minutes wait.
So nearly 1.5 hours before I can eat.

I order online and drive to the Turkish one.

Dandydendy · 06/10/2023 23:46

3 Italian restaurants
Lebanese
Sri Lankan
Thai
Chinese
Japanese
2 cafes that do takeaway

Ratfinkstinkypink · 07/10/2023 00:04

None, no deliveries either but the fish and chip van is a 30 minute walk away one night a week provided you don't mind taking your life in your hands on some busy B roads.

SuperNewMe · 07/10/2023 03:20

Chinese or Indian as both a two minute walk away.
Spoilt for choice lol

Moogoopixie · 07/10/2023 05:12

KFC 🍗 a chipshop and I think theirs a Chinese to I don't use them

piscofrisco · 07/10/2023 07:46

Something from Greggs or Simmons the bakers. But I'd be walking for 45 mins. Which is good because by the time I got back I'd have walked off half my sausage roll.

DiscoBeat · 07/10/2023 07:50

There's only one, about half an hour walk away, but it's an excellent Bangladeshi restaurant and our favourite so I'd be happy!

Tonight1 · 07/10/2023 07:59

Chip shop 2 minutes, pizza 10 minutes, Indian 10 minutes, and a really excellent Chinese 15 minutes which I should go to more often. It's probably the extra 5 minutes 🤣

@artG I think we live in the same place.

@Goldencup Is Kokoro a chain? We have one in our nearest city.

Kokoro is a chain. They started off around Kingston/New Malden and quickly spread.

Within walking distance of me is Chinese, fish & chips and a pizza van that's around 1 day a week if you are lucky.

icebearforpresident · 07/10/2023 09:12

In my old house I lived 2 doors along from a chippy, which had an ice cream shop next door, and was across the road from another chippy.

Now we have moved it’s another chippy, Indian restaurant which does carry out, a Chinese, couple of kebab/pizza places and a greasy spoon cafe which also does takeout all with 10 minutes walk.

I took my kids to see a friend in a major city a few weeks ago and we stayed overnight, all the kids wanted to do was order from Just Eat because no where around here does it 😁

SaltyOne · 06/10/2023 03:42

None. We can't get deliveries, either. 😕

Same. Probably better for us though. Less temptation.

Goldmember · 07/10/2023 10:39

Mcdonald's
Indian x2
Chinese x2
Chippy x2
Pizza / Kebab shop

There's loads more in the next village 20mins away.
In the NW, we love our chippy food.

Floralnomad · 07/10/2023 10:41

The only walkable one we have is a mobile fish and chip van that comes every Friday and it’s really nice .

Longlive · 07/10/2023 11:00

None, although the local pub does takeaway carvery on a Sunday.

Mammyloveswine · 07/10/2023 11:21

Within walking distance I have a chippy, Indian, Chinese and kebab/pizza place 🙈.

Id get Chinese aa it's the best Chinese in our area! (Lazy cow that I am tho we usually get it delivered).

Wiaa · 07/10/2023 11:33

I live minutes away from a main road with a kfc a McDonald's greggs costa 2 chip shops 2 Chinese an italian a Turkish restaurant around 4 indians and a peri chicken place aswell as several pubs, i also have 3 local rows of shops that also have chippy Chinese and Indian and 1 has a thai too and ever so slightly further say 8 minute walk theres another precinct with indian Chinese italian 3 pizza places 2 chippies

Rockandrollfangirl · 07/10/2023 11:35

Loads within a 5/10 minute. Nothing within walking distance though. Though the pub might box something up for you

MrsBobo · 07/10/2023 11:36

None. I'm so rural which we love, but sadly means we have to drive for a takeaway!

CoughingMajoress · 07/10/2023 12:03

lawoi · 06/10/2023 01:05

Venezuelan street food. London zone 2, with a huge variety of street food and restaurant options within 10 mins walk. Can get pretty much anything within walking distance.

Same. I could find basically any cuisine within easy walking distance.

Though the Venezuelan food truck that's parked outside my apartment building is less nice than the Venezuelan food truck that's parked outside my workplace.

My usual takeaway right now is an Indonesian, and the Indonesian place I like does both traditional Indonesian dishes like Nasi Goreg, and some Chinese dishes too.

MezzoSexual · 07/10/2023 21:23

There's a lovely one near me that does Thai/Japanese/Chinese. That would be my go to.

MegaClutterSlut · 07/10/2023 21:43

I live right next to the town centre so loads. Closet is a Chinese which is a 30 second walk, if that
