using takeaways within walking distance of your home , what takeaway would you have?

There are usually sheep in the adjacent field and sometimes cattle if we walk in the other direction, if we happen to have a qualified butcher visiting. Also rabbits, squirrels, pigeons if we have a guest with a shotgun.

Oh and a couple of bakeries
one does amazing Portuguese tarts

Chinese, Indian, Pizza, fish and chips. The nearest McDs, BK or KFC are all 10+ miles away though and we don't have just eat, deliveroo or similar.

fairly standard selection.I’m in awe when visiting friends in cities of the range and quality of take out and street food.

A cold curry. It would be cold after a half hour walk back. Next nearest are Chinese, more curry or pizza two miles away. I still prefer living somewhere quiet though. Not having loads of takeaways on my doorstep is a small price to pay.

London so loads of options. At least (I have probably missed some):

On my own, I tend to go for sushi, with DH tend to go Lebanese or Thai

Spoilt for choice 3 mins walk away: Chinese (which I've never used), two Indians, a fish and chip / kebab shop, three Italian restaurants which all do takeaway pizza and a Greek place.
More choice - McDonalds, Piri Piri, fried chicken etc - if you are willing to walk a bit further. Viva London and its diversity!

I live on an estate and just under five minutes walk I have a chip shop, pizza, Indian take away with a small restaurant, a chain pub selling food and a shitty, grubby mini supermarket where the owner occasionally gets fined for out of date food. I only go there because of the Post Office inside and I'm glad I don't have to lick the stamps.

There's a dodgy chippy up the road

We are walk a 20 / 30 minute walk into a city centre with decent takeaways. But it would be a bit cold by the time we got back home

There's a lush pizza place about 30 minute walk in the other direction but again it would be cold by the time we were home

We have all of them within walking distance (15 mins, large town centre) and only get fish and chips once a month.

Nearest is a chippy/kebab shop, but I only eat the chips from there. Also an Indian, but it is not a good one. Pub food.

Slightly further walking distance away there are more pubs with decent food, a better Indian, Chinese, Greek, Syrian/Lebanese and Domino's.

On delivery I can also get McDonald's and burger/chicken shop type options, Thai, good quality Turkish food and Japanese.

Two minutes from my house there is a bakery, horrible chippy and Chinese.

The bakers is only open during the day and does a limited range of filled rolls.

My choice would be the Chinese.

Around the corner is a kebab/pizza place which is nice big mega expensive. Or an Indian takeaway.
about 15 minutes walk away we have a shopping precinct that has a Chinese, several pizza place, Middle Eastern, Italian, and a dessert place.

Define “by foot”? I could walk there no problem but it would be cold by the time I got home. It’s only about 2 miles. No delivery here either.

Oo there’s a pizza van that’s (supposed to be) in the village once a week but it’s unreliable and you have to join a WhatsApp group to know when it’s around and pre order a couple of days in advance. And then it’s margarita or a choice of two specials.

The only really nice one is the Chinese, the Indian is OK, the others I would never use.
Then the town centre is 5 to 10 minutes away and that has everything- McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, German kebab, Japanese, Thai etc.
What we don’t have weirdly is a fish and chip shop in walking distance.

Live in London so have hundreds of restaurants round the corner...

God I miss living in London! I’d have to walk an hour down unlit country roads to my nearest takeaway and nothing delivers to me

We have a new "all in one type place "It is at the end of my road i've not been but local reviews are good so going to try it next take away night. And we have a chip shop and Chinese takeaway but it's not great but they are all within a 10 minute walk.

Walking distance I've got chip shop, Jamaican, three pizza places, four if you count Domino's (I don't, it's shit) three Chinese, two Indian, two kebab.
I like the chip shop and one Chinese out of that!
