I'm currently on mat leave and we've started having a bit of cbeebies. Some of it is great - Bluey, Bing, Mr Tumble etc. Is anyone else driven mad by some though??

So when I'm director general of the BBC, Yakka Dee is getting yakka'd out the window, Cocomelon is getting on their bloody bus and sodding off and we're falling out of love with Love Monster.

Anyone else want a rant? not enough tea this morning

See I love dinosaurs but I can't stand Andy. Standing there gurning with someone else's backpack on, because he's broken someone else's hard work and has to replace it, again.

LittleMG · 13/10/2023 07:37

Why is My Petsourous or whatever it is getting off Scot free I hate that show!

LQNavarro · 13/10/2023 08:23

Some of these answers are very triggering. My youngest granddaughter is now a 14 year old proto-Goth and wouldn't thank me for reminding her how much she loved In the Night Garden and Mr Tumble.
Her absolute favourite, though, was a DVD of The Wiggles which I grew to hate with an incandescent passion. Thank Christ I'll never have to hear those hyperactive Antipodean bastards yelling "Gidday!" and "Whoop-di-doo!" ever again!

Some of you are seriously messed up.

Small Potatoes is the greatest telly there ever was. Tee and Mo are awesome.

However, Waffle needs experimenting on, off screen. Topsy and Tim used to drive me potty and that bloody kid and her spider.

I don't mind Mr Tumble but his other shows - the stupid quiz show one and the one that's lots of short clips in the style of 1980s humour. GAH.

Gigglebiz? My dd was creeped out by that!

chocolateisavegetable · 13/10/2023 08:43

Blippi gives me the absolute rage

FourStringsNoWaiting · 13/10/2023 08:59

Someone upthread mentioned referring to Topsy and Tim as 'Autopsy and Dim' which I will now use 😄 I hate them so much and I'm not even sure why. Likewise Biff and Chip. Think it's possibly the names. I can see how Chip could be a nickname for Christopher or Chipolata or something and Biff is probably Elizabeth but Topsy? Really?

We call Molly and Mack 'Mouldy and Mank'

I could do without Bing as well. Also Apple Tree House which thankfully doesn't seem to be on so much anymore

Justin's House is quite annoying but actually kind of brilliant in its way. My 16MO loves it and joins in with the singing which does make me happy

We LOVE Vegesaurs and Kirk & Lou, they're both entirely inoffensive to us

HunterHearstHelmsley · 13/10/2023 09:00

BEAR, JUST EAT MASHA! EAT HER! SHE'S RUINING YOUR LIFE.

I say that a lot.

IHeartGeneHunt · 13/10/2023 09:46

Kiri and Lou is great. The one with the fireflies makes me cry and I'm not even the crying type.

Yummy yummy yummy yummy fruit SALAAAD

PollyPeep · 13/10/2023 14:00

@MeinKraft My kid actively chooses Alphablocks over other options! Definitely not my choice. Paw patrol for me any day! My problem with Alphablocks is that it's annoying AND I don't think it really teaches anything as it's so limited in scope, hence the five same words complaint. It just seems to exist to fool parents into thinking it's educational (and to aggravate me). Unlike colourblocks and numberblocks which I do think are good.

Can I whisper that I love bing though? I want to live in their lovely world and have flop as a friend.

Flop is the dad we all wish we had and all wish we were.

Give the ted a raise

Badbadbunny · 13/10/2023 16:40

Cbeebies is particularly crap, especially Justin/MrTumble. It's years ago, but our
DS used to always want to switch over to other channels. Channel 5's "milkshake" was far superior at breakfast time than the Cbeebies drivel.

The only thing he'd watch on Cbeebies was Come Outside with Auntie Mabel and Pippin dog - he made us record them all, and would watch them over and over again. Now that really was classic Kid's TV, not all this patronising claptrap they put on these days.

CarrotSoupwithCheese · 13/10/2023 16:57

Can’t believe Raa Raa the very noisy lion hasn’t had a mention. I know it’s written by speech therapists or whatever but that doesn’t make it any less irritating.

Marmite27 · 13/10/2023 16:59

Fucking Bing. 5 days in solitary in hospital at the height of covid and it’s all DC then 2 would watch.

It was before Bluey. I’d have been quite happy with Bluey for 5 days. But whiney fuck nugget Bing? I’m still traumatised but it tbh.

FourStringsNoWaiting · 15/10/2023 14:58

PSA: Baby Jake has just started on CBeebies

I thought they'd binned it
