I'm currently on mat leave and we've started having a bit of cbeebies. Some of it is great - Bluey, Bing, Mr Tumble etc. Is anyone else driven mad by some though??

So when I'm director general of the BBC, Yakka Dee is getting yakka'd out the window, Cocomelon is getting on their bloody bus and sodding off and we're falling out of love with Love Monster.

Anyone else want a rant? not enough tea this morning

I've just had a flashback to when Justin Hawkins from The Darkness was on Zingzillas. Low cut sparkly jumpsuit and everything. It put me right off my 27th of the day cup of tea.

I feel a bit nostalgic for cbeebies now. I have fond memories of going to my sister's and watching our babies (now 13) play while Sarah & Duck/Come Outside etc was on in the background.

Icantsleepagain · 12/10/2023 22:07

I was driven crackers by some of them.
Waffle doggy - I'd say to DS, oh dear the TV seems to have conveniently broken. I'd be singing the bloody waffle dog song all day and the fucking next day
yakka bloody Dee or whatever the fuck it was called. That was switched straight off.
Baby Jake or something along those lines, where they all lived in an ecstatically happy and smiley frame of mind in a cramped tree stump or lighthouse or whatever the fuck it was.
These programs bring out my sweary side

ruthonfire · 12/10/2023 22:11

Charlie and Lola pisses me off. They talk very slowly and annoyingly.

Bing is obnoxious.

We love Moon and Me however

I quite like Yakka Dee! Bing is annoying and teaches terrible baby talk - the DC have started saying stuff like 'rainy-bow' despite being perfectly capable of saying rainbow, because Bing does. I'd also be mysteriously busy any time a playdate with Pando was suggested, he's always taking other people's turns. But its not the worst.

Waffle is awful. I hate that badly behaved dog, and the ineffectual and negligent owners. I'd hate to live next door to them too, poor Mrs Hobbs. Also DS tunelessly sings the theme tune constantly and it makes my ears bleed.

The terrible Topsy the animated triceratops. Utterly pointless, and awfully acted and animated.

They seem to have cancelled it now thankfully, but that pissing taking guinea pig Olga da Polga drove me insane.

Molly and Mac is trite dross - I have no idea what the entertainment value is supposed to be.

Bloody DH put Paw Patrol on for them and they adore it - the film isn't that bad, but the series is dire. On pain of death he's not to introduce Peppa.

If my grandson ever says "I have an idea", I start singing that song from Molly and Mac. He's learnt to give me " the look" when I do, so I sing it even more!

SuperFi · 12/10/2023 22:15

Loads of them, but especially the Waybaloo which I hope is no longer on CBeebies, urgh.

The Tweenies also made my teeth itch.

Decafcaramellatte · 12/10/2023 22:22

Hey duggee. Makes peppa pig look like the complete works of Shakespeare.

I'm taking him and all the bloody squirrels to one Last Trip to the vet and then I'm getting my badge for services to humanity. Ah fucking woof.

ARealFake · 12/10/2023 22:34

Justin's House, or anything with him in really, his voice and that stupid giggle noise he makes! On YouTube Miss Immy, an influencer ripping off Miss Rachel - very poorly, her mouth is enough to terrify adults let alone children 😲

I’m trying very hard to indoctrinate a two year old into dvds of Willow the Wisp, Top Cat and Bugs Bunny but the little bugger isn’t having any of it. DH has just bought Thundercats to see if he has more luck”

You need Rosie and Jim and Come Outside. Brilliant kids’ tv.

Snugglemonkey · 12/10/2023 23:14

I am answering before reading the thread, but I am 100% certothets have said this. Peppa fucking pig. She would drive a vegan to feel like cooking bacon.

She irritated me immensely when my son was wee and he was only interested in Mr. Bull, so I was spared the worst of it probably. Once he realised Mr bull was not on every show, he only wanted to watch a couple of episodes. I have a daughter now. I will be attempting to keep her right away from that pig.

lennylion · 03/10/2023 09:34

Is Paw Patrol still a thing? God i hope not. It made me want to scream at animals, and I love animals

Oh Jesus!! The trauma of those fucking pups!

meow1989 · 12/10/2023 23:19

baby bloody Jake. It was "broken" in our house for years then I came in the other day to find DS grinning at me as his nan had let him out it on. Utter trash.

Peppa pig. Bing (though flip is the most offensive to me).

I don't mind paw patrol to be fair... DS likes this, super kitties and Spidey and friends and I'm clinging on to them being a gateway to proper marvel films

Crispynoodle · 12/10/2023 23:23

I'm a Granny who has a GS who like vets Steve and Maggie drives me batty!

Cattenberg · 12/10/2023 23:33

Topsy might as well be a dog. He behaves just like one.

From a young age (maybe two) DD hated Waffle and Justin’s House. I can’t say I blame her, though I do quite like Robert the Robot. I can imagine him training for three years at RADA, leaving him slightly over-qualified for wearing silver paint and falling over.

DD is currently into homemade YouTube videos of American dollies shopping at Claire’s Accessories. Give me Bluey any day!

Plonkandplonkers · 12/10/2023 23:42

Speedie Didi. Don't know if it is indeed speed she's on, but OMFG, she sounds so weird and hyper that it instantly sets my teeth on edge

Blahbie · 13/10/2023 00:03

Mr tumble - is bloody everywhere on CBeebies

Love monster - hate hate hate the theme tune and it's just a dumb show I don't see what a kid can learn from it

Waffle - I think even dog lovers would be annoyed with that show - it doesn't show dog lovers in a good light tbh

Yakka Dee - we know you love to talk but doesn't mean we want to hear you talk 🗣️

Molly and Mack - just a weird show

Andy's amazing prehistoric adventures- weird aswell I don't see the appeal in shows about dinosaurs 🦕

Peppa pig is annoying but my girls like it and it shuts them up lol

Bluey I just don't get !!

When I can think of any other kids show that is just crap my opinion only I'll post

Cattenberg · 13/10/2023 00:20

I’ve always liked time travel stories and I loved seeing the animated reconstructions of prehistoric dinosaurs and mammals!

dansha · 13/10/2023 00:24

Can't believe nobody has mentioned baby shark do do do do do 😁

MeinKraft · 13/10/2023 00:25

Some of you never had to live through Baby Jake and it shows Envy it's time for an adventure goggy-gee-ah!

MeinKraft · 13/10/2023 00:27

Postman Pat has always really irritated me. He's the most fucking useless postman ever. The special delivery service series is the worst. He gives zero shits about his wife at home. Somebody in Orkney needs a special pencil delivered by tomorrow? No problem, I'm on my way. Don't worry about checking in at home first Pat eh? She'll just look after the kids AS USUAL. Probably won't even notice you're gone.

At least he takes the cat with him I suppose.

I read on MM a while ago some theories about INTG and one was that scene at the beginning where Iggle Piggle is in his boat at the beginning? Theory is he is trapped in an eternal night all but himself just rowing along and the programme is him dreaming about having some friends because he's so lonely Sad

I'm thinking it's more of a Jacob's Ladder kind of scenario ...

PollyPeep · 13/10/2023 00:40

No one's mentioned Alphablocks? The episodes make no sense and are totally disjointed, obviously because they're trying to shoehorn the same five words in ("dog" "tap" "din"). And I know they have to work in the sounds of the letters but lord give me strength... Listening to an hour of "tuh tuh tuh puh puh ah ah rrrrrrrrr" and the occasional "tip top tea party" is enough to send me over the edge. Well, at least my kid can now spell tap. Colourblocks and numberblocks on the other hand, they can stay!

MeinKraft · 13/10/2023 00:45

The thing about alphablocks is you shove your toddler in front of it thinking if they don't watch all 50 episodes they'll never be able to spell tea or cat or pot. And they watch them all and still can't spell and you start to worry that they're going to struggle at school and so on. But then they go to school and one day they can just read and spell pot and cat and tea because teachers are amazing and have proper teaching skills and it turned out they didn't need alphablocks at all and you should have just let them watch 45 episodes of Paw Patrol a day like they wanted.

Discwriter · 13/10/2023 01:09

We watch all of these every morning before the school run. Robert the robot is a RSC actor, who was recently replaced by Chris from Show Me, show me! I leave the tv on for Small Potatoes - "Feelings" should be on spotify. I am very invested. But Bing can bore off and Waffle and his family needs some training.

FoodMishap · 13/10/2023 01:21

I’ve really gone wrong here. It’s poorly animated American ponies here; or Gabby’s Dollhouse which is almost-but-not-actually tolerable .
