An electric bar fire. Portable, you plugged it in as needed.
A dish mop ( very good, actually, I wish they still made them for glasses).
Radiogram.
Collar studs and stud box ( for my father who worked in the City) . You changed your collar every day, but had two or three shirts in a five day week.

Large UK Atlas in the car

I've still got one of those!

I'm about to go to bed and I need to change it. I'm going to make it up with sheets and two blankets ... it's still too warm for a duvet.

I'd say the thing that we had and that I no longer have was an oil lamp ... but I'm so sentimental that I kept it ... don't use it, though. Maybe it will come in useful if there is ever a power cut.

A globe that held bottles of Martini & Cinzano that were pulled out every Christmas then ignored for a bit before being put back in as none of the adults actually liked the stuff.
I suspect if my parents hadn't downsized a few years back & got rid of a lot of stuff including the globe, it would still contain the same bottles as it did back in the 70s.

I think I still have a set of Whimsies in the loft somewhere!

We had a twin tub washing machine and an old mangol to squeeze out the water. We had an old copper boiler in the yard to boil up white clothes and sheets and towels and Mum used to put a knob of blue in to make them brighter whites.

What's a silver fish?

Teeny insects that like damp conditions. They’re actually harmless, and still quite common. Most people don’t even notice them as they tend to come out at night to eat things like damp lino glue.

Gold coloured boxes with embossed pictures for coal or in our house timber logs and turf. It was my job to fill them after school and to light the fire. I seen two on fb marketplace yesterday and offered to. Uy them about of pure sentimentality. I hope I get them, my husband will just smile and shrug when he sees them beside the stove but he's used to me. Our coffee table is another fb purchase, it's pure 70's with pull out leaves at each end and it matches my grandmother's sideboard which I have. Wish I had a house big enough for the serving hatch we had when I was a kid which was really only used for passing cups of tea from the kitchen to the sittingroom but I loved it.
