Honestly, only need one:

Cantique de Jean Racine
Adagio for strings
The day thou gavest (hymn)

traumallama · 27/09/2023 11:06

Be Still, For The Presence of The Lord

No Hard Feelings (The Avett Brothers)

Those are the two that I would like people to remember me by.

dontgobaconmyheart · 27/09/2023 11:07

Honestly, none. I'd prefer a direct cremation without those elements. If others want to incoporate some music then I suppose that's up to them ultimately, as I won't exactly be here to have any sway and am happy for them to if that's what they want but there's nothing that I'd choose myself!

SingingWaffleDoggy · 27/09/2023 11:11

The place where lost things go, Tennessee from Pearl Harbour Soundtrack and Songbird

murasaki · 27/09/2023 11:22

I do love the day thou gavest though, definitely my favourite hymn.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/09/2023 11:26

I've requested the finale of Kurt Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.
The words are 'Nothing you can do can help a dead man'
Getting the orchestra and choir might be an issue...

80sMum · 27/09/2023 11:31

I am happy to leave the choice of any music to the family members left behind. After all, my funeral is for them, not for me.

CassieRole · 27/09/2023 11:35

Something loud and offensive probably. Or something uncomfortably long and boring.

Just 1.
In the end by black veil brides.

SuziLikeSuziQ · 27/09/2023 17:50

Crocodile Rock (it has my name in it and I like it)
Die hutte de Baba Yaga from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition (one of my favourite classical pieces)
Dumbledore's Army from the Order of the Phoenix soundtrack (we had it at our wedding)

Or if the Mussorgsky is a bit too dark, then the Detectorists theme tune by Jonny Flynn.

LunaNorth · 27/09/2023 17:52

Clair de Lune while they carry me in.

Lippy Kids by Elbow to reflect my career (secondary teacher)

Mr Blue Sky by ELO at the end so everyone leaves with a smile.

Somewhere over the rainbow and What a wonderful world by IZ ( they are on the same recording track so count as one)

The Pearl Fishers Duet sung by Jussi Bjorling and Robert Merrill

Scarlet Ribbons by Sinead o Connor
