What’s on the menu?

We are having slow roasted lamb shoulder with lemon potatoes and a Greek salad - in fond memory of our fabulous summer holiday.

Breakfast was a bacon sandwich.

Then we went out to a farm shop cafe at lunchtime and I had a cream tea for lunch.

Currently making broccoli and stilton soup for dinner and I'll serve it with some nice bread and butter that I bought at aforementioned farm shop.

Roast pork in the Ninja, homemade gravy, roast spuds, roast carrots, tender stem broccoli, green beans and Yorkshire puds. It's currently cooking and smelling amazing and making me feel hungry.

We went to a local pub for Sunday Lunch (carvery style) at 1o’clock so just now we’re sat on the sofa eating cheese and pickle sandwiches, Madeira cake and a pot of tea. Lovely!

Plumful · 24/09/2023 19:17

Sorry Plumful, I have only just seen this, was at swimming thing with DC all evening.

There are loads of recipes but I use this one

I didn’t add any oregano today, but sometimes use a bit of rosemary if have extra from the lamb.

So many fantastic sounding dinners today, Mumsnetters certainly know how to eat well!
Thanks for sharing so many great recipes too. Recipe Tin Eats is one of my favourite go-to sites (I ❤️ Dozer!) but I’ve never tried the baked chicken and rice so that will be featuring very soon because it sounds absolutely amazing @MardyMcBlowdry

Greek Lemon Potatoes with Garlic & Oregano

These delicious lemon potatoes with garlic are so easy to make and they are a perfect side to a roast or anything grilled.

Reporting back that I used the baked rice part of the RecipeTinEats recipe instead of cooking rice on the hob, given that the oven was going to be on anyway for our tandoori salmon. The rice was lovely, and nice and simple to do, but cooked in far less than the time she gives. This may have been because the rice didn't have raw chicken on top of it. I would do it again, probably with the chicken, as I love that combination.

Chocolatepeanutbuttercupsandicecream · 25/09/2023 08:30

I meal prepped some slow cooker dump bags on Saturday.. popped the Spanish chicken in the crockpot before church and Sunday dinner was easy, served it with rice last night and will have it with homemade sourdough tonight.
