November 2007. I was 7 months pregnant, working as a waitress at a pub. Earnt £4 an hour. It was a Saturday, I remember doing the Saturday lunch shift at work. We had cake and some friends round to my then boyfriend's house where I was living in the evening. DS born in February 2008. 🙂

I had a 17 day old dc. Went to a restaurant at the end of mil's street while she babysat. Left half way through with leaky boobs!

SweetBirdsong · 16/09/2023 21:55

Not giving out that kind of personal information on here.

FindingMeno · 16/09/2023 21:56

Was so long ago I can't remember, but I'm sure it involved plenty of alcohol.

Hellocatshome · 16/09/2023 21:58

My parents stayed in a hotel I had a few friends over, there was only 5 or 6 of us, a bottl of tequila, and some wine because we were pretending we were posh, some fireworks and quite a lot of vomit.

elliejjtiny · 16/09/2023 21:58
  1. I went to pizza hut and then to see Erin Brockovitch at the cinema with my friends on the Friday before and then dinner at the all you can eat Chinese with my mum and dad on my actual birthday.
AutumnLemon · 16/09/2023 21:59
  1. Tequila slammers and dancing to Spice Up Your Life. Stole a traffic cone on the way home which my mum took back the next morning.
Eyesopenwideawake · 16/09/2023 22:02

Last century. Worked a double shift and went out for dinner with parents. Rock 'n' roll!

Nice harvesting attempt BTW 😜

Yep, third thread tonight like this. (This poster has two.) Trying to find out peoples ages. Date and month of birth on one thread, and now the year. Very odd. Third one was asking what celebrity you share your birthday with. All very odd.

CheersToMe · 16/09/2023 22:04

It was the day after I turned 17y 365 days.

Although it could've been a leap year I suppose.

Babygirl888 · 16/09/2023 22:06

Mine was on a Sunday and I waited outside a club on a Saturday till midnight as the bouncers wouldnt let me in i legally turned 18 😂 i fully waited about 3 hours and got maybe an hour inside but I loved it. Im a summer baby so was the last of my friends to be able to go to a club.

LetUsPounce · 16/09/2023 22:10
  1. I was at boarding school. My friends threw me an afternoon picnic tea on the floor in one of our dormitories. Loved it 😍.
PermanentTemporary · 16/09/2023 22:10

I was revising for A-levels. I think it was the first really stressful adult birthday in that I tried to think of a present my Mum could give me that wouldn't cost much but which would seem special enough. I asked for a small heart-shaped pendant on a chain in the end. I wouldn't be surprised if she skipped meals to pay for it.

caringcarer · 16/09/2023 22:31

Years and years ago, and my Dad offered all of his DD's a big party or a second hand car. My 3 older sisters all chose the car but I chose the big party. Now we're all old they remember my party and imply I was spoiled to get it but I remind them they chose the second hand car. They all now wish they'd chosen the party. I have very vivid memories of drinking and dancing most of the night with my friends and my Mum and Dad leaving at 10pm luckily before I was drunk. Memories are priceless and better than any car.

  1. U I was 3 months pregnant. My step dad died 11 days before my birthday so no celebrations.
RampantIvy · 16/09/2023 22:42

So many youngsters on this thread Grin
1976 for me. I was at school studying for A levels. I went to the pub with some friends on my birthday, and had a big party at the weekend

fourelementary · 16/09/2023 22:44

A long time ago now… last century! I went out for a meal with my family IIRC… I was at uni and home for the holidays. Probably went out with my flat mates once back there too… nothing big though as back in the day we’d all been able to get into pubs and clubs for years by then so it wasn’t a big deal to turn 18.

I was about to answer this then I realised it would be giving far too much info out. Glad it’s not just me thinking this.

Nope. Not just you. I have seen at least 3 threads tonight from 'new usernames' asking for personal information, 'just for fun.' Wink

Went clubbing with friends on my actual 18th (not for the first time). Do people still do that anymore?!

Family meal at a restaurant the next day.
