When did you turn 18 and what did you do?

Summer 2005, midweek birthday so family meal with one small glass of champagne as had an A level exam the next day. On the weekend clubbing with mates in my new boob tube dress from Morgan drinking WKD having the time of my life!

Summer 2000. Sat my last A Level, went to the pub, then went to the cinema to see that awful submarine move with Jon Bon Jovi in.

Should have been a bit more epic but all my friends still had exams coming up...

Honestly. I did nothing. Mine was the last birthday out of our group and no one was interested. I got a few small shit presents. My parents did nothing. It’s actually been the blueprint for my life where I’ve had to celebrate others birthdays but when it came to mine everyone used to go ‘oh bathing isn’t really bothered’ and ignored it.
as soon as I was old enough I always went on lively holidays. I’m pushing 50 now and I refuse to go to other peoples birthday celebrations now, reap what you sow.

2018... and I was 38 wks pregnant with my daughter. Not the most exciting birthday to say the least 🤣 made up for it with my 21st though

Would have been 1980. Is it weird that I actually have no clue what I did. Obviously not memorable though I must have done something as I had a loving family and a boyfriend.

Mid 90s. Went out with my mum as at that point I had major issues with friends and I wasn’t sure if any of them were still my friends. So no fun parties and alcohol for me!

Went to see Pink Floyd at Wembley Stadium

1986. I passed my driving teat the day after.

April 2006…
went to chessington with then DP, came home to a surprise party and then had a hell of an earache all night which kept me up all night and turned out to be an ear infection.

I was at uni and I actually can't remember 😳

Meal out on the Saturday night the day before I turned 18 with a mix of 3-4 different friend groups who were all very different to eachother which was awkward as they all knew me in different ways and not in ways they'd have got a long with eachother.

I was like 4th oldest in my year so the plan was to get a few drinks from an off license near the docks and hang out. It was around 10:30pm and they wouldn't serve me but served my mate who was using an obviously fake ID.

It started raining and whilst there was plans to go to a local nightclub it turns out they didn't open Saturdays which I thought was a given. As we were outside people started going home (understandably) I got picked up and went to a nightclub alone as i was the only one that was 18 and the shut club was the one that never asked for ID, which was a big move for me and felt awful on my birthday to be on my own but found some people I knew and partied.

Nothing. My friends forgot, my boyfriend was working, my mum was away at her partners, my dad spent the weekend at his girlfriends.

I turned 18 on my 18th birthday, funnily enough.

mid 80s, I was at Uni, and can't remember anything about it. My parents probably rang.

MARCH 2005

My sister and I had a combined birthday as she was turning 21 here. The legal age to drink is 18, so I drank way too much and don't remember much of the party, lol think of was drinking vodka cruisers and whatever else vodka drinks there was (they were the it drinks for 18 years olds back in the day in Australia lol).
I had dinner with family.
I just started in a bridging course in technical college. The party was on a Saturday, so I had Sunday to recover. I was mostly ok 😄 and it was the start of the year, and this course had no real exams it was the easiest pisstake course. I swear I was asleep/skipped most of it and still passed 😅.

2007, went to a warehouse rave and was taking drugs squashed in a portaloo with 2 friends when the clock turned to midnight and I was 18. By my next birthday I was pregnant with DD and my drug and rave days were over forever little did I know it then!

June 26th 2001, went clubbing with my mates.

January 2006. Likely booze and cocaine or crashed somewhere on a come down, it wasn’t the most productive time lets say.

1980. I had a big party at home for all my mates before we all headed off to uni or to jobs. I wore a red wafty Indian cotton dress,I smelled of patchouli and we all got very drunk.

1993. It was on a Friday so I would have been in school. Had a gathering of a few friends in the house the day after, with a bottle of Asti and a birthday cake before heading to the local rugby club. Was later picked up by a couple of mini buses and headed to a night club.

I really can’t remember .Nothing much as I don’t celebrate my birthday. Its over 30 years ago.
