Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

The thing is, unless they have been convicted all it can be is 90 minutes of blacked out people saying ' unnamed celebrity did this'. Hardly riveting programming when they could just hand what they know to the police then do a proper programme if anyone's convicted.

My money's on yer man Mogg being an actual time traveller, sent back to keep us poor folks in our place 😁 they found his flux capacitor in his mansion grounds.

RB has a huge following online they see him as a kind of prophet against "the system" so if it does turn out to be about him no doubt his followers will say its all just lies to bring him down and shut him up even though he has basically admitted he was a sex addict and there have been stories about him for years.

Comedians being letches? My sis & I (were 16) and other younger members of crew & actress whose Dad was also a comedian at the time, & a very nice bloke) were sexually abused & generally pawed at by a 70s ‘comedian’ in the 80s. Utter bastard, dead now thank fuck. Equity ended up getting involved ffs (“it’s the way I tell ‘em”, bastard).
He was also a raging alcoholic whose whisky bottles were still being found weeks after the panto finished, in toilet cisterns, stage fire equipment cubbies, prop store etc.

And as one night’s tech lead I had to break into the lead dressing room to help a female (over 18) crew member who had been locked in & pinned to the door by another 70s (racist, now Brexit loving, a fav of GB News watchers) comedian after I heard her screaming for help during the interval (she was bringing him a drink from the bar).

JD, if I ever saw him again, would be one of the very few people on this earth I’d knock out on sight.

For some, the power given by being lauded as celebrities has always been used to exploit & abuse others. On the other hand, working with proper A listers, I’ve met some truly lovely folk who I’m still in contact with years later.

Now that would grab my attention! I am not a royalist, in fact I think their existence stops us growing up as a nation so anything that strips back the curtain of deference and illusion would be fine by me. Don't think it will be this though
