Apparently the biggest news story of the year is going to break over the weekend

It’s all overTwitter, or X as it’s now called. One of the Sunday papers is working on a massive story and all staff weekend leave has been cancelled. Channel 4 is showing an episode of ‘Dispatches’ tomorrow night at 9pm but haven’t said what it’s about and lots of people are putting two and two together and saying it’s in conjunction with the following days papers.

A positive epidemic within the comedy circuit, maybe. But again would that be a big enough story, because reprehensible as it undoubtedly is, would anyone be surprised?

Kate and Wills been in the papers an awful lot this week. Charles hasn't really done much since becoming King. Royal family has had its day. I think they know this and William really is the only one that could possibly revive the whole show. Noone likes Charles and Camilla - do they?

Yes, they do. On the latest poll, 55% have a positive opinion of Charles and 42% have a positive opinion of Camilla. They aren't the most popular members of the royal family, but it seems plenty of people like them.

You can enjoy gossip all you like. Just don't refer to it as news, and don't expect others to want to listen to/read about it. There is a reason why I don't watch television, and it's because 99.99999% of the people on it (i.e. everyone except Victoria Coren Mitchell) are profoundly uninteresting.

It is news though. Nowhere is there a definition of news as only being about politics. And if your 99.99999pc (😂) stat is right, how come MailOnline etc have such huge audiences?
