I love lasagne with chips and garlic bread. Pizza and chips. Chip butties, wotsits sandwiches, fried mashed potato sandwiches. Carbs are good! What's your favourite carb or carb combo?

Crisps for main course, chocolate for pudding.

Robinbuildsbears · 09/09/2023 19:04

Always love a chip cob. A bunch of takeaways will do cheesy chips on a naan, which is great but I've never gotten more than halfway through one.

As a North West girl it has to be butter pie (with chips and gravy!)

For those not in the know a butter pie is essentially buttery potato and onion in a shortcrust pie.

cherryassam · 09/09/2023 19:05

My guilty pleasure is a butter pie barm. Triple carbs!!! Even better if there’s some gravy on the pie too

cherryassam · 09/09/2023 19:06

@ThreeRingCircus cross post! I now realise I could be having my butter pie barm with a side of chips.

grafittiartist · 09/09/2023 19:06

A Hull patty butty.
Heaven!!

Or a Scottish Macaroni pie.
Also heaven!

ThreeRingCircus · 09/09/2023 19:06

Now you're talking!

WAASOAR · 09/09/2023 19:07

Chip sandwich with lots of butter
and the same as you - lasagne, chips and garlic bread.
I love carbs, I don’t know how some people avoid eating them, I don’t think I could go without them. Every meal I have contains carbs.
I also love a croissant with Nutella.

I have never heard of butter pie <Londoner> ….and now it is all I can think of - sounds bloody delicious! 😋

Any advance on quadruple cards?

I'd go for a vada pav (Indian potato patty in a burger bun) and chick pea curry with rice and garlic naan. Apologies for the inclusion of relatively healthy chick peas.

Too much stodge for me. I love lasagne, I love garlic bread and quite like chips but not all three together.

I like most carbs TBH. I will never tire of a piece of toast for breakfast, any meal based on rice or pasta or mashed potato which IMO, is the best way to eat potato.

I also love pie.

Twiceover · 09/09/2023 19:22

Half and half - I think it's a Welsh thing - curry or something similar with half rice and half chips. Best of both worlds!

No, it has to be half rice and half naan.

WonkyDesk · 09/09/2023 19:33

I agree with @RampantIvy. I live in Bradford and we have some brilliant curry houses. The naans are massive!

Chip butty from the fish and chip shop is my ultimate comfort food.
Chicken supernoodles, god dammit even a naughty pot noodle as well.

molosolo · 09/09/2023 19:37

Would love to hear more about a fried mash potato sandwich, do you fry the potato or the sandwich like a toastie?

I love a chip sandwich with a fried egg, started as a pregnancy craving but still have them on my days off work 10 years later!
