Carb appreciation thread-what's your favourite carb or carb combination?

I love lasagne with chips and garlic bread. Pizza and chips. Chip butties, wotsits sandwiches, fried mashed potato sandwiches. Carbs are good! What's your favourite carb or carb combo?

The Booths ones are certainly good I agree. Our local bakery makes them in-house though and they are whispers even better!

I'm so partial to white roast with lashings of butter. Simple and soooo yummy

Mashed potato, with sausages, peas, gravy.
Cheese toastie and tomato soup.

Pasta every time

Potato waffle sandwich - but the bread has to be thick sliced white with about half a pound of butter spread on it. Delicious!

DH comes from Liguria, the land of flaky chickpea fritter (farinata) served inside hot, greasy thick focaccia.
I thought that was weird even before low carb!

Mine is chips inside slabs of Irish batch bread (buttered, of course). I haven’t had it for years…

Oooh a roll and fritter with lots of vinegar

Macaroni cheese and chips. Or a macaroni pie with chips. Both with copious brown sauce. Or an Aberdeenshire white pudding supper.

Bread
, bay firm of bread, granary, rye, bloomer, brioche, crumpet, muffin, naan, baguette, any kind of bread.

With butter.

When I went to Belgium they told me I had to try stoemp. No idea what it was.
Even the Belgian waiter looked at me strangely when I asked for stoemp and fries…
Its a root vegetable mash/flan.

As a child I would have said a piece of cheap white bread, with a dollop of mash folded into it, dipped in the leftover gravy.

As an adult, it would be a toss up between that, or anything that is rice based.
