I don't know how many of you have come across this song already on social media but I wanted to share it because I feel like it's touched my soul in a way not many other songs have...

It's called Hi Ren...

Really interested in what people think about it...I'm not very emotional but it nearly brings me to tears every time I watch / listen to it

Any songs that do the same for you?

Seemann - Rammstein

FairylightsandHygge · 24/09/2023 04:26

OMG, yes! I was sobbing in the theatre to that one, trying not to do the ugly cry but it was no use!

DyslexicPoster · 24/09/2023 04:26

Oh so many!

Sam Smith lay me down, love you like I can I currently listen too since my mum died this year.

Supermarket flowers by Ed Sheran.
Dance with my father

Snow patrol just say yes
When we was young Adele. Reminds me when dh was younger and I blindly idolised him. He used to be an amazing person. He isn't that man anymore.

amoureuse kiki dee. Reminds me of being 17 and first love

Rainbow connection. Heard when desperately wanting a child. Takes me right back to my soul aching for a pregnancy

Colourblind by Amber Riley. It's a love song but sums up the abuse effects from my mum

Kean love too much. Sums up throwing myself into doing countless SEN tribunals for my kids

Each meant something at a certain time when I heard them. Like someone read your mind and sung out your innermost thoughts.

I love this version of Withrring heights. Just because it amazing.

I've seen a couple of harrowing documentaries recently - one was on honer killings, and the other was on human trafficking and included a particularly awful segment on young kids who are sold to men in the Philippines.

A few days later, the song by Biillie Eilish - What was I made for? came on the radio. To my complete surprise, it made me cry (and I'm not someone who cries!). Something about it just triggered feelings about the level of violence towards women and girls across the world.
