Good god, have they gone mad? That price is ridiculous.

InterFactual · 05/09/2023 11:54

Kids shoes are now the price of adults shoes from a couple of years ago. Now the adult shoes are priced like a designer brand, it's ridiculous. I suppose there must be people stupid enough to pay it or they would go out of business.

ArcticLingered · 05/09/2023 11:55

I don't want to click on the link so that Clarkes follow me round the internet for ever after. How much are they, then?

The online Clarkes Outlet (just Google it) is the only place I buy them!

piglet81 · 05/09/2023 11:56

£160?!

£160!!!! Wtf!

PenelopeTheShroudWeaver · 05/09/2023 11:56

Are they mad? If I could drop £160 on a pair of loafers I wouldn't go to Clarks

I like their plain pumps for work, but this is mental (and I can't say I'm keen on this particular style, either)

Olika · 05/09/2023 11:57

That's mad!

HowNice23 · 05/09/2023 12:00

That's silly pricing and quite an ugly shoe. Maybe we have high insteps but the velcro on little shoes was always too short so we binned them off years ago! Hush Puppies are better for hard wearing comfort.

EachandEveryone · 05/09/2023 12:08

No, they look too painful

Louise303 · 05/09/2023 12:11

Crazy prices I buy the children's school shoes but only outlet prices which is £35.

Wexone · 05/09/2023 12:15

the back patent ones painful ? how ?

mandymion · 05/09/2023 12:18

their kids shoes are poor quality too. Recent school pair only lasted under 3m before they had holes in the toe of each foot! And £52!!!

Augustus40 · 05/09/2023 12:18

I would rather spend that in Ecco shoe shop.

PandaChopChop · 05/09/2023 12:21

Paid £61 for (last minute) school shoes for DD10 who is an adult size 5 (so very difficult to get suitable school shoes) on Monday. Nearly cried. Will check out the outlet instead!

D1nopawus · 05/09/2023 12:28

Outlet is the only place I used to buy from. I bought a cheapish measuring guide from Amazon during lockdown so that I know what size to look for.

CClaire · 05/09/2023 12:30

I was actually pleasantly surprised to find they hadn’t increased school shoes prices since last year. The ones I bought for £50 last year were good for the entire school year.

Snoken · 05/09/2023 12:34

I think because it's leather and not pleather. Although, I have never bought anything other than school shoes at Clarks so I don't know what they would normally cost.

ShutTheDoorBabe · 05/09/2023 12:43

We bought our dc's school shoes from the skechers outlet this year. Much less crowded than Clarks and therefore more available.

I walked out of a Clarks shop when dc1 was a toddler because they wanted something like £35 for a pair of toddler shoes and I was like wtf?!?!😳

Fallingthroughclouds · 05/09/2023 12:46

Ludicrous

saltrocking · 05/09/2023 12:52

They're Clark's originals. They are much more expensive than their normal range.

Hmm, but they may be small sizes, but they still require labour to manufacture and then retail costs to sell. How much would you expect shoes for infants to cost? At what quality and at what conditions for the workers? Admittedly I don't know anything about Clarks' production conditions.

I'll admit that these look expensive for what they are. I don't really 'get' crepe soles - they don't look that durable or like they provide a good grip, and they have a weird smell, at least when new.

Britpopbaby · 05/09/2023 13:04

I’d not be happy to pay that for Clarks! I’d rather save the money and go to a higher end shoe shop in the sales.
