What are your ‘I’m poorly’ foods

In bed with Covid, can’t do much, don’t really want to eat but feel I have to be proactive about it so just had sour dough bread and honey washed down with kombucha.
What I really want is hot Ribena and rich tea biscuits.
What helps you when you are poorly!

Heinz tomato soup, with thickly buttered bread, always. Although I didn't have it when I had Covid because I did lose my sense of taste and was afraid I'd get the ick, so I avoided it.

Plain digestive biscuits. Always make me feel better. I just came on a couple of hours ago and the pain is now horrible. I think I’ll break out the biscuits. Hope you feel better!

Coralie1 · 03/09/2023 22:19

Kraft cheesy pasta and Ribena.

Icepinkeskimo · 03/09/2023 22:20

Fish finger sandwiches, ummmm lovely

Mindovermatter247 · 03/09/2023 22:26

marmite on toast for whatever reason. dunno why, I don’t eat it otherwise… if I’m that poorly I always send DP to the shop for marmite and then it’s never used again 😂

mcchicken sandwich from McDonald’s after I’ve thrown up… purely because it’s dry af and it sits easy on the stomach.

Cheese toasties (sandwiches if sore throat) cut into fingers and dipped in tinned tomato soup. I like hot blackcurrant or fresh orange juice.

LIZS · 03/09/2023 22:28

Chicken noodle soup, crackers

Rockfordpeach · 03/09/2023 22:28

Another here for tomato soup and cheese toasties

Violinist64 · 03/09/2023 22:28

Either Heinz tomato soup or boiled eggs.

VivaLaSpag · 03/09/2023 22:28

Bowl of frosties without milk and warm ribena-reminds me of school sick days in the 80s and 90s!

Twilight7777 · 03/09/2023 22:30

Heinz chicken soup or Chinese chicken and sweet corn soup. Plenty of sugary cups of teas.

timberho · 03/09/2023 22:30

Very little when ill and then tea and toast when feeling better (not very original but a fail safe!)

MrsMoastyToasty · 03/09/2023 22:30

Poached eggs on toast with lots of salt (I never usually put salt on my food, but always on this when I'm recovering from sickness)

goldennavy · 03/09/2023 22:33

Mashed potatoes

Apricotton · 03/09/2023 22:35

Jacket potato and cheese.

I used to love Heinz tomato soup, but it doesn’t seem to taste like it used to.

mrsmacmc · 03/09/2023 22:35

Digestive biscuits with a scraping of butter and a wee thin slice of cheese

Egg whipped up in a cup

Heinz tomato soup is the only thing that hits the spot.

And Ribena to drink

Snugglemonkey · 03/09/2023 22:41

Chicken noodle soup. Not tinned or packet though.

Egg in a cup with soldiers.

Mashed potatoes

Similar but an island of mashed potato in a sea of Campbells chicken soup.
