Dilute juice - water or juice first?

Just trying to end a debate!!!!

Dilute juice… do you add the water first or the juice?

Personally I add the water first, then the juice. I can confirm that this he caused a debate. A large debate.

Juice then water

Aquamarine1029 · 29/08/2023 16:19

I would add water to the juice.

KeepSmiling89 · 29/08/2023 16:19

Juice then water.

Same as with my tea - teabag, water over teabag then milk.

Juice of course.

ForeverYellow · 29/08/2023 16:20

I do juice and then add water .

EVHead · 29/08/2023 16:20

Juice first, as I know how many cm I want in the bottom of the glass.

Aquamarine1029 · 29/08/2023 16:21

Sorry, op, your way is like pouring the cereal into the milk.

maybebalancing · 29/08/2023 16:21

Juice then water.

WestOfWestminster · 29/08/2023 16:22

I'd call it squash, unless you are talking about diluting orange or apple juice, but why would you do that?

Anyway, I used to be a squash first kind of person, but in recent years have switched it up and tend to put water in first so I can see the colour change easier and better select my preferred level of strength. My change in habit coincided with the move towards 'double strength' squashes where I found it all too easy to make up my drink far too strong.

Rach224 · 29/08/2023 16:24

Oh my gosh only one other person so far! That’s crazy! Gutted!! If I add the juice first, I tend to add too much. I feel if I add the water first that I can better determine how much juice to add!

Juice first

LylaLee · 29/08/2023 16:26

When you pour the water in it mixes the juice.

Your way, juice first, you then need to stir it with a spoon, like a cup of tea.

WeeOrcadian · 29/08/2023 16:26

Adding juice to water makes all the juice sit in one place unless you mix it - add juice to water

You heathen

BashCandicoot · 29/08/2023 16:27

Juice first. I use the mega concentrated ones from Tesco (I’m addicted to orange and mango) and I know exactly how much to put in each glass depending on size.

Juice goes in first because then it mixes with the water as the water sloshes in.

SwimSwim · 29/08/2023 16:27

Water first!

AlisonDonut · 29/08/2023 16:28

Either. Who cares?

Rach224 · 29/08/2023 16:28

@AlisonDonut well, you cared enough to comment my dear!

I’m with you OP! If you put the squash in first, how can you tell how strong it’s going to be?! I add squash to water so I can sip it and add more if I need to.

CatsOnTheChair · 29/08/2023 16:32

Juice first.
Otherwise it doesn't mix properly without a stir, which make's more washing up.

Because that's not your first time having squash.

You get an idea of where on the glass the juice needs to be to be your preferred level of sweetness.

TooOldForThisNonsense · 29/08/2023 16:33

Juice first

unless! It’s one of the wee bottles of squeeze squash which I add to water

User7477 · 29/08/2023 16:36

Juice then water so it mixes better 🤣

DanceMumTaxi · 29/08/2023 16:38

Juice first. Never known anyone do it water first.

trampoline123 · 29/08/2023 16:44

Deffo juice then water, it simply doesn't taste as good the other way round.
