Some posts with 'edited' at the end, Never seen this before.

Have seen a few posts today that have 'edited' at the bottom. I've never seen this before and I've been here years! It doesn't state why it's been edited so am curious.

Is it a new thing?

They posted yesterday morning about 9.30am in site stuff, but admittedly that post did not get that much traction. I must admit I found the edit function before I saw their message.

It didn't work on the iPad app yesterday.

... and doesn't seem to today, though it's possible my app hasn't refreshed yet if there was an update.
You can edit a post made in the app if you can find it in time in the browser version though.

Why does anyone use the app, when the mobile version of the web works fine and has more functionalities like voting and filtering OP's posts?

MN have said in their post that the functionality isn't available on the app yet, but that they're working on a big update to the app that will include this and other things you can't currently do.

I use the app on the iPad because I find it a lot easier to read than the browser version nowadays. I just use the browser if I need to do something the app doesn't support.

(The iPad app does have the option to filter OPs posts, that's useful)
