Give me a non alcoholic drink that isn’t awful

Just that - got to attend various barbecues etc at the weekend where everyone else will be drinking except me. What can I drink? Non alcoholic wine is awful. Tried nozzeco and hated it, thought about non alcoholic gin but it’s the same price as the real thing so would need to be worth it!

any other ideas? Zero beer is ok but I can’t drink more than one.

thanks!

Non alcohol gin, tonic, elderflower syrup from IKEA and cucumber. Amazing!

This wine is genuinely so nice too
Freixenet 0.0% Alcohol Free Blanco

Kopparberg alcohol free is nice too.

All I could happily drink any day even though I'm not pregnant anymore!

madmumofteens · 22/08/2023 21:34

Another vote for Thatchers zero cider it is really nice, and hits the mark 😘

waltzingparrot · 22/08/2023 22:03

I'm rather partial to an elderflower cordial with tonic water and loads of ice.

You've had some great suggestions but wanted to say Sainsbury's do a really nice sparkling wine - it's on the dry side but lovely. £3.25 a bottle so a bargain. Everyone I give it to really rates it.

loldollz · 22/08/2023 22:20

Peroni 0.0 is nice

Kylie Minogue rose alcohol free prosecco is really good, as is the frexinet one.

I like belvoir raspberry cordial mixed with ice and diet lemonade and garnished with fruit for a mocktail vibe.

Also like the 0.0 gins.

ThePuma · 22/08/2023 22:21

Couldn’t be arsed to read the whole thread so apologies if already mentioned, but Lucky Saint is the best NA beer.

WouldYouLikeYourMuffinButtered · 22/08/2023 22:37

I am prepared to be in the minority but Eisberg white wine is my favourite. It has to be chilled well though.

aintnothinbutagstring · 22/08/2023 22:50

I like Trip drinks, though expensive. Probably enjoy a diet coke though alot more than any fake alcohol drink.

SarahT1234 · 22/08/2023 23:01

Sounds crazy but try a large spoonful of basaltic vinegar in a big (pint sized) glass of lemonade (sprite etc not “proper” lemonade). Taste is really similar to pimms-godsend when you can’t drink but miss cocktails!

redastherose · 22/08/2023 23:12

Lime and mint cordial in a glass bottle from Tesco with ice and tonic is lovely and tastes as though it could be alcoholic 😊

Lime and soda?

Drunk this today so refreshing. Ginger beer and lime is lovely too

DelCalMun · 23/08/2023 06:33

How about a Virgin Mary? (if you like tomato juice). It makes a refreshing change to have a savoury drink instead of always having sweet drinks. Spice it up with Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, lemon juice and serve over lots of ice. Tastes as good as Bloody Mary.

I like

Trip CBD drinks
Non alcoholic aperol with tonic
No alcohol gin and tonic
Kombucha

Water

I have been drinking Crodino recently, it's an alcohol free aperativo in the same ownership as campari. Stocked in at least Sainsbury's and Waitrose I think.
You can drink as is or mix with tonic.
Also, non alcoholic fizz differs, I took the freixenet rose to a BBQ at the weekend and whilst not the same it was pretty acceptable.

Currently on holiday in Italy and drinking this by the gallon!

Theroofisonfiyah · 23/08/2023 06:55

Genuine question....if you're not drinking, why do people still lean to non alcoholic versions of stuff? If Im not drinking I'll have lime and soda or a coffee. I find it crazy that we have such stigma about NOT drinking at social events 💁‍♀️

Noodles1234 · 23/08/2023 07:05

Becks Zero or Old Speckled Hen Zero are good non alcohol versions.

Fentemans Rose Lemonade, tonic water or sparkling water.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 22/08/2023 14:25

I'd stick with fruit juice or mocktails. You won't really get anything which replicates alcohol.

Homemade lemonade is lovely too

Yes this. I drank them on holiday, came home and have been buying from Asda/sainsburys. Personally I like the coconut/pineapple one, just like a pina colada. Or the mango/passion fruit.
yum.

DelilahBucket · 23/08/2023 07:19

M&S do an AF Rose Prosecco which is quite close to real, not as sweet as other versions.
I have never found another AF drink that I like. You can't replicate it, and you end up disappointed because there isn't the alcohol taste or kick. I just stick to good soft drinks. A decent cordial with plenty of ice and tonic or soda water and garnish is great.
I don't rate the Trip drinks. I had one and yes I felt very relaxed but I had the most awful nightmares and said I wouldn't touch it again.

MangoBiscuit · 23/08/2023 07:31

They've already been mentioned, but I also recommend Fentimans rose lemonade, and the green trip drink (lemon and basil). Can also dress both up a little with ice and slice, so people assume you're drinking.

I also really like the robinson's cordials. Lime and mint, crushed ice, sprig of mint, soda water, makes a very tasty af mojito. The rhubarb and orange blossom is also delicious with just soda. Sometimes I'll make a pitcher of elderflower cordial, apple juice, soda water, and thin slices of apple and cucumber. Delicious, refreshing, and looks nice.

MrsRL · 23/08/2023 07:47

M&S do a non alcoholic white wine that is the closest tasting to actual wine I've found (not just tasting like sweet juice). Myth coconut white cane spirit is fantastic with coke and other mixers, doesn't replicate alcohol but is nice for something a bit different than just the usual soft drinks

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/08/2023 07:57

LA Brewery Kombucha

I think Ocado have it.

I get direct, or Amazon, or from local health food shop.

The "citrus hops" is like a lemony larger on a hot day.

I thought this too. Isnt it just like most days??

TherealmrsT · 23/08/2023 08:37

Understand about why drink non alcoholic versions rather than just something else, and I usually drink lime and soda when in a pub. I am on permanent very low alcohol consumption and sometimes just want a change, or to have something a bit special. Family member in similar position so we are in a game where we try to find nice different things.
For anyone else looking for lower alcohol alternatives I recommend Quarter gin, I prefer to the zero versions.

Heybearu · 23/08/2023 08:46

Aqua Sana is my gin replacement, refreshing and lovely.
