Cringe movie moments

That scene in Bridesmaids where the bride and her best friends are miming and gurning along to the Wilson Phillips song makes my toes curl. And this is in a film where they're shitting in the street and vomiting on eachother. Not sure why, but it really makes me cringe. Does anyone else have strange can't -watch-it movie moments?

"Nobody puts baby in the corner" 😳

At the end of Four Weddings and a Funeral: “Is it raining, I hadn’t noticed” just makes my teeth itch 😖

doroda · 20/08/2023 08:40

The pottery scene in Ghost

Kingsleadhat · 20/08/2023 08:41

Madonna in Die Another Day, I have to leave the room.
What where the Bond people thinking?

dudsville · 20/08/2023 08:45

These are all old films! I feel like so many new films really push the boat out to make an audience really suffer through cringe worthy scenes. Hate them!

Borris · 20/08/2023 08:45

I came here to say the four weddings raining line too!

Agree, but with Halle Berry in Die Another Day "I think I got the thrust of it" innuendos. I get Bond is riddled with them, but in that (and virtually all her movies) she's just cringe.

The Parkinson bit in Love Actually where he looks at the camera and says that'll never make no1

doroda · 20/08/2023 08:51

The car taking off in Grease

Newgolddream70 · 20/08/2023 08:59

Kiera Knightley in Love Actually when she's watching the wedding video and says 'I look quite pretty' 🙄.

Clawdy · 20/08/2023 09:05

That moment in Four Weddings when the older guy in the bar is reminiscing quite happily about a man he was at boarding school with, who "buggered me senseless ".....

Yes! This is toe-curling!

"This is the skin of a monster Bella" whilst he sparkles like a vajazzle.

meatbaseddessert · 20/08/2023 10:07

Love actually. All of it.

Cheesymonster · 20/08/2023 10:13

RicherThanYews YY to this and “Hold tight little spider monkey“ or whatever the line is 🙄

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 20/08/2023 10:15

I can't watch the I Am Woman scene in SATC2.

Obviously the entire film is trash but that scene in particular is awful.

WhiskersPete · 20/08/2023 10:39

I'm the king of the world woooooooko

Outstandingly awful scene. I can't think of a worse one.

SweetLorele · 20/08/2023 11:20

All of Love Actually
Both SATC films.

RicherThanYews · 20/08/2023 12:58

@Cheesymonster oh absolutely. That line is often quoted in my house when laundry is being taken upstairs 😂 the other cringe line is "I'm the one with the wicked curve ball" 🙄

Any chance of a clue?

RicherThanYews · 20/08/2023 13:34

@Amispringy ... sparkly vampires stroll merrily around Forks living as vegetarians and hunting down bobcats whilst avoiding teenage wolves?

ThickSkinnedSoWhat · 20/08/2023 13:39

For me, as much as I did think it was a good movie, one that makes me cringe now that I am older is the Titanic movie. Purely because I realised Leo and Kate for whatever reason use their characters names 100 times a minute. Honestly every single sentence seems to include the name Jack or Rose as the movie goes on, as if they will forget it if they don't say it. Maybe it's just me that noticed this 🙈

I'm guessing What we do in the Shadows or something 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anyway back to OP I suppose any "montage" bit or musical interlude makes me cringe

Poor Hugh Grant in Love Actually with that dance thing.

And on Love Actually, fake swearing (piss it - who even says that).

Richard Curtis is a very, very successful master of cringe
