Cringe movie moments

That scene in Bridesmaids where the bride and her best friends are miming and gurning along to the Wilson Phillips song makes my toes curl. And this is in a film where they're shitting in the street and vomiting on eachother. Not sure why, but it really makes me cringe. Does anyone else have strange can't -watch-it movie moments?

The fight scene in Bridget 2

The entire of both Mamma Mia movies. Special mention to Pierce and Cher.

xYerDaSellsAvonx · 20/08/2023 20:03

The see through and extremely creased top Bridget wears in the first film. Fucking cringy and embarrassing

Justme10 · 20/08/2023 20:05

In Harry Potter HBP I think? When Ginny says 'open up you' to Harry while feeding him a mince pie and I think she ties his lace or something later on as well, both make me cringe inside out 😬

NewYorkFirstTimer · 20/08/2023 20:05

When Bridget Jones smugly says Lucky Star instead of Holiday. I have to fast forward it.

ElizabethVonArnim · 20/08/2023 20:12

I say 'piss it'. I caught it from Martine McCutcheon and can't get rid of it. I blame Richard Curtis very much.

Cosycover · 20/08/2023 20:16

The bend and snap.

Richard Gere was a very handsome young man but the ending of Brearhless killed all desire I had for him -

When Harris gets released from Azkaban in the Chamber of Secrets and Harry hugs him and everyone cheers. Can’t watch it.

Biscuitandacuppa · 20/08/2023 21:09

Hagrid not Harris!!

Valerie23 · 20/08/2023 21:12

Another absolute random just popped into my head. About A Boy. Anytime I hear 'Killing Me Softly', I think of it 😂

Julen7 · 20/08/2023 21:20

The fake orgasm scene in When Harry met Sally

myusernamewastakenbyme · 20/08/2023 21:29

I find the whole 'Grease' film a total cringe fest...I can't watch it anymore.

Makemineacosmo · 20/08/2023 21:37

I think I am the only person in the world who absolutely loves Love Actually. Sorry. 😂

The pottery scene in Ghost makes me close my eyes, I can't bear it.

Lottapianos · 20/08/2023 21:47

'I think I am the only person in the world who absolutely loves Love Actually. Sorry. 😂'

I love it too 😁 fully acknowledge that huge chunks of it are awful though

Mamette · 20/08/2023 21:52

“Laurence of my labia” 😬

I love a good Samantha pun, but that was just way too much of a reach and the film in general was hideous.

At the end of Four Weddings and a Funeral: “Is it raining, I hadn’t noticed” just makes my teeth itch 😖

And the scene where she goes on and on about skulking. I always fast forward that bit!

Me too! Watch it every Christmas with DD, one of the few things we both love.

The Parkinson bit in Love Actually where he looks at the camera and says that'll never make no1

But that's meant to be cringe!

rowantree1997 · 20/08/2023 22:41

Showing me age:

The bit in St Elmo's Fire where Demi Moore is rocking in her empty apartment and the windows are open and the curtains are blowing around. Rob Lowe bursts in and tells her the story of St Elmo and his fire 😂

The KK I look pretty line.
The is it raining line.
They must be the top two surely?

Theres a line in The Prisoner of Azkaban where Daniel Radcliffe hysterically shouts. “ he was their friend!” which always made me and my kids howl with laughter.

SATC 2 was truly awful and I say that as a huge fan (in the day) of the series.
Theres actually one good line in it where Charlotte and Miranda are talking, and they say how hard motherhood is and that they have hired help. C asks how do the other mothers do it and M says’ I have no effing idea. Let’s drink to them’.
