Cracked heels/hole in foot (gross foot photo included)

Hi,

My foot has been hurting the past couple of days so I figured it was dry and have just been moisturising it. Today it was really hurting so I've given it a nice long soak and inspected it and I've got quite a deep hole in the heel.
What can I do to make it better?
I've attached a gross photo

Thank you

A pedicure might help.

Radiatorvalves · 19/08/2023 20:43

That might need a podiatrist not a pedicure.

Hopingforagreatescape · 19/08/2023 20:48

You need to get rid of all that old skin - use a foot file or pummice stone in the bath - and then you might be able to see what the hole is. Might be a verrucca?

FutureThroughLensOfThePast · 19/08/2023 20:54

Ask for your thread to be moved to Sporner Corner - that's where the foot peel experts dwell!

andjustlikethat1 · 19/08/2023 20:55

Podiatrist will shave all that off it's called pairing (I think) and you will be walking on air afterwards. It's an amazing feeling

Are you looking at a different photo?

Whattheflipflap · 19/08/2023 20:58

As hq to ping this one over to sporner corner!
looks very like my verruca did when I pulled it our

andjustlikethat1 · 19/08/2023 20:58

lol 😂 I am so sorry my husband just asked me what I was looking at, and he said that's like something from a tomb lol 😝 sorry for being horrible

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/08/2023 20:59

Take another photo when your foot is dry. It’s clearly been soaking for a while and it’s difficult to tell from this photo.

MrsRebeccaCobb · 19/08/2023 21:00

Heavens above, Monster Mother..... how on earth....

Wolfiefan · 19/08/2023 21:00

Are there black dots in there? Verruca?

PollyPeep · 19/08/2023 21:02

I'm pretty sure that's a verrucca, they look like that when soaked in water.

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 19/08/2023 21:07

CCS cracked heel cream once you've got it with a foot file. That's an impressive build up of dry skin around what looks like a verucca. File round the hole not over it and moisturise with the ccs cream around it. Your poor feet. Alternatively see a podiatrist asap then keep on top of your foot care.

Motherofmonsters · 19/08/2023 21:08

Thank you for your replies,

I can't see any dots inside it but it might be because it's been soaking. I'll have another look when it's less 'soaked'

OMG OP. I am sorry but that's horrendous all over. You need a podiatrist.

Sunshineandrainbow · 19/08/2023 21:12

Buy a footner foot peel and in a few weeks your feet will be all shiny and new.

fruitypancake · 19/08/2023 21:15

Mine were nearly as bad.. I had a pedicure to get started and then bought some Vaseline and thin socks for feet in Superdrug and have been plastering my feet in the Vaseline every night and going to sleep in the socks . Then file them with a hand held file every few days or so.. they are so soft and smooth now , they look like different feet

Iamacatslave · 19/08/2023 21:30

@aspirationalflamingo yes.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 19/08/2023 21:34

Have you got Diabetes or been tested for it recently? I'd book a test asap just in case this has happened partly because you didn't have sufficient sensation in your feet to notice.

CatsOnTheChair · 19/08/2023 21:35

DO NOT use footner while you have a hole in your foot!

I'd get a file and some high urea foot cream, and a pair of socks you don't mind wrecking. File GENTLY, cream and socks every night.

I think it will look less evil once the soaking whiteness has dissipated a bit.

Good point. I was wondering how that had only started to hurt in the last few days.

I just ignored it... I'm part hobbit in the summer, flip flops or bare feet so just carried on. Thinking I should think about my feet a bit more in the future

Book a podiatry appointment, honestly they will have seen far worse. Buy some flexitol cream for the cracked skin around the heel, put on at night with socks and good luck Smile

UndercoverCop · 19/08/2023 21:58

I've got an electric foot file thing, from Amazon not much money, stop soaking. When your feet are dry put a towel down and use the electric file, then get CCS cracked heel cream slather it all over a put socks on over night. File twice a week at first, cream every night, when it starts to improve you can switch to CCS footcare cream.
I am barefoot or in barefoot type sandals all summer and this keeps my feet lovely.
I won't do professional pedicures anymore after sustaining an injury during one that required stitches and meant I couldn't wear a shoe with a closed back for nearly 8 weeks.
