What time do you go to bed?

Just interested really
chatting to a few friends today was a bit shocked as few said they are up to midnight/1am and then up with the kids 6:30/7am (averaged 6 hours)
my mum said she goes to bed at 10:30 and wakes up at 8!!! (Retired) seems excessive!
I am knackered by 9:30 but up with my baby at 6am (and sometimes in the night!)

I get into bed at 8pm ish after putting DS to bed and doing my skincare teeth etc and watched tv/ read for a couple hours then go sleep 10ish.

I love going to sleep early and getting up early, have done all my life!

Calistano · 18/09/2023 12:36

Midnight at least, I love the early hours.

Calistano · 18/09/2023 12:39

I do think it's innate, some people are just built different. If I took myself off to bed at 8pm I'd be wide awake by 2am.

Nannyfannybanny · 18/09/2023 12:46

I am amazed how early people go to bed on here. I worked nights for 30 years,so getting to sleep is difficult. Normally for me it's 11pm after the news. Sometimes I will sleep for an hour which was my break at work at midnight. Up by 5 in the summer when it's light. We have a 10 week old puppy, Saturday,I eventually got to sleep was woken up twice for toilet duties. Was very tired yesterday, asleep in the evening watching TV, staggered off to bed at 9.20 unheard of for me. Woke at 2.30,and 5.30,by puppy. I am absolutely fine on 5 hours sleep, haven't had so much as a cold for over 15 years, probably longer, never had a Covid symptom or positive test.

Bedtime around 12am-2am for me, it depends what time I finish doing stuff. I hate trying to juggle things with a baby around, so I do chores and food prep and life admin while she's napping or sleeping. Generally get out of bed at 7.30am, though I'm kept up through the night by my 1yo.

I usually feel tired if I've been up until 2am or later but, but not if I'm in bed by 1am.

I go to bed pretty early and watch tv, I force myself to turn it off at 11 as toddler is up between 6-7. My Fitbit normally tells me I get about 6 hours a night (toddler doesn't sleep through usually)

TerryOrange1w2 · 18/09/2023 13:10

8pm.

toddlermom99 · 18/09/2023 14:35

I'd say I'm always asleep by midnight. Tend to wake up a couple of times in the night, usually by my partners snoring Hmm and then my 3 year old DS wakes me up around 7.

My little boy is at his dads EOW so on those nights I'll go to sleep about 1/2am and wake up around 10am and it's bliss.

alwaysmovingforwards · 18/09/2023 19:32

I like to sleep 10.30pm to 6.30am

Floralnomad · 18/09/2023 19:35

I physically go to bed at 10 but I never attempt to go to sleep until 1:30/2 and then I get up anytime between 7-9 . I wouldn’t go up so early but my dog is a creature of habit and starts barking at 10 pm as he likes to be upstairs ready for his night time medication

SherbetLemonn · 18/09/2023 19:36

10:30ish, give or take. Any later and the dogs turn into absolute drama queens, huffing and sighing and flopping around by the back door. Up at 7:30ish when toddler DS wakes up.

Sarfar45 · 18/09/2023 19:37

Go up at 10 ish then watch tv for half an hour. Usually wake up between 6-7 am

underneaththeash · 18/09/2023 19:42

Bed at 10.30pm up at 6.30am (during week).
I would like to go to bed at 11pm and wake up at 8!!

WildFlowerBees · 18/09/2023 19:43

9.30 with all good intentions then I seem to find myself watching endless videos of 'Amazing Amazon finds you need' they aren't amazing and I don't need them. So probably asleep by 11pm up at 5.30am.

mosiacmaker · 18/09/2023 19:47

I am shocked at some of these answers! How do you survive through the day?? If I go to sleep any later than 10.30 I am wrecked the next day (wake up around 7/730). I need basically 9 hours sleep minimum, but do think I’m a pretty restless sleeper so maybe that means I need more asleep time for the same benefits as others.

saffy2 · 31/10/2023 17:13

I need a lot of sleep, always have. 10 is normally my latest bedtime. Even earlier when I’ve a kid up in the night. My alarm goes off at 7ish and I get up then. My youngest doesn’t wake in the night or get up early anymore, but I’m pregnant so will be going through it again. During that I usually go to bed as soon as the little ones have, so 7.30/8ish. I also have a 14 year old so I’ll find that tricky this time round 😂

Gnomegnomegnome · 31/10/2023 17:15

In bed by ten at the latest and up by 5am three days a week and 7am the rest of the week.

Decafflatteplease · 31/10/2023 18:49

I'm trying to shift it earlier to take better care of myself 🙂

I try to be in bed by 10.30 then read for 20-30 mins, I often end up on the iPad though instead of reading which is a habit I really need to break!

Usually have light out by 1130 but I would like it to be 1030 ideally

I'm awake at 6, up at 6.30. Also up through the night often with disabled DC, can be up in the night anywhere from 0-3 hours a night ☹️

I can sometimes sleep in the day though as I'm at home full time but depends what I have in!

Weekend I try to be asleep by midnight or just after and up at 8ish

LoobyDop · 31/10/2023 19:25

10-6 during the week. More like 11-7:30 or so at weekends.

soberfabulous · 02/11/2023 15:32

I get into bed at 830 if at all possible and turn read for 90 minutes or so. Usually turn the light off at 1030. Up at 6 or earlier every day.
